They just started and they're already a complete failure with regards to their founding premise.

Why not just let the CIA handle it?

They should have named it the Defense Intelligence & Clandestine Service.

    It still works. :icon_mrgr

Creating another agency to make things more efficient is stupid. Claiming that what you're already doing is going to be more "effective" because of it is just retarded. Either that, or he doesn't know what effective means.

Jokes aside, they should have named it the "Clandestine Defense Intelligence Service (CDIS)", which actually sounds like something official. "Defense Clandestine Service" sounds like shitty grammar (which it is).

They probably ran out of grammatically correct names.

Largely because its a pain in the ass for active duty military to do CIA work. I imagine this is an effort for DIA to allow military officers to retain their commission/enlistment and avoid the HUGE pain in the ass of sheep dipping a good soldier.

Also, if I read this correctly this isn't a new agency, rather it would be a new DIA directorate.

I imagine the name stems from just how close this directorate will work with the National Clandestine Service.
