Libya to try Kadhafi killers

(AFP) – 1 day ago

BENGHAZI, Libya — Libya's new rulers said on Thursday they would prosecute the killers of ousted dictator Moamer Kadhafi following the international outcry over the circumstances of his death.

"With regards to Kadhafi, we do not wait for anybody to tell us," said Abdel Hafiz Ghoga, vice chairman of the ruling National Transitional Council at a news conference in Benghazi.

"We had already launched an investigation. We have issued a code of ethics in handling of prisoners of war. There were some violations by those who are unfortunately described as revolutionaries. I am sure that was an individual act and not an act of revolutionaries or the national army," the top interim official said.

"We had issued a statement saying that any violations of human rights will be investigated by the NTC. Whoever is responsible for that (Kadhafi's killing) will be judged and given a fair trial."

Ghoga, who spoke in Arabic and whose remarks were translated by an official interpreter, was responding to specific questions about Kadhafi's death and potential abuses.

His statement came as NATO weighed a possible new role in Libya following Kadhafi's controversial death, as France said the UN would vote on Thursday to end the alliance's mandate for an air war on October 31.

Global disquiet has grown over how Kadhafi met his end at the hands of NTC fighters who hauled him out of a culvert where he was hiding following a NATO air strike.

Mobile phone videos show him still alive at that point.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Wednesday expressed his "disgust" at the global media for its graphic coverage of the ousted leader's death.

"Almost the entire Kadhafi family was killed. His body was shown on all the world channels. You could not watch without disgust," news agencies quoted Putin as saying.

"What is that?" Putin exclaimed. "They show a bloodied man, wounded, still alive but getting beaten to death. And they splash that all over the screen."

Is this a fucking joke? WE bombed his convoy and only barely missed killing him ourselves. It's only OK to kill the guy if you use bombs and planes etc? This is feigned outrage by the same international community that did everything they could to help get this guy killed. What the fuck did people think the rebels were going to do once we helped them catch him? Read him his rights and give him a nice warm cell to await trial?

http://fortune.com/2017/12/08/libya-slave-market-trade-slavery-africa-2017/

It began back in 2011, when the initially nonviolent Arab Spring uprising against the erratic and often despotic Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi was attacked by government forces. Many soldiers defected from the military and joined the rebels, forming a military opposition.

But when the U.S. and its NATO allies intervened on the rebels’ behalf soon after, the original political opposition was quickly sidelined.

For instance, the Wall Street Journal‘s Sam Dagher reported seeing a rebel slogan calling for “purging slaves and black skin,” in Misrata, a rebel stronghold he described as dominated by “tightly knit white merchant families.” Backed by U.S.-NATO airstrikes, rebels there attacked and captured Tawergha, which Dagher reported as “a town inhabited mostly by black Libyans, a legacy of its 19th-century origins as a transit town in the slave trade.” The town’s black population was largely expelled in the military assault.

The Western bombing campaign left behind a lawless country, unimaginably over-armed and under-democratized, with a dispossessed population struggling to survive in conditions of civil war and violent chaos.
It's whitey's fault. We didn't give them lots of democracy before we left. If only we had delivered crates full of democracy to them, then they would have built schools and hospitals, instead of slave markets. It's our fault they set up slave markets, because we're the savage shitheads, not them.

Meanwhile, the country’s borders were left almost entirely unguarded as streams of migrants from poorer countries flowed into Libya, hoping to reach safety, security, and jobs across the Mediterranean in Europe. It’s been a field day for ruthless people-smugglers and traffickers, Libyan and otherwise.
It's whitey's fault for not setting up secure borders. Borders are very important for safety and security. Unless, of course, those borders are located in the southern US, in that case, borders are ineffective racist garbage.

Brown people set up slave markets to sell black people, because whitey is racist, and evil.

White people should buy Gillette razors, and slit their throats, so blackie and brownie can be free.

Apparently the only answer is to colonize these countries to maintain some kind of safety and security because they can't do it themselves. But that's rasis.

The best option from the standpoint of the savages is a brutal, self-serving dictator in charge. It keeps the savages in line, and, more or less, keeps the peace. That's a good option for us(America, and other civilized nations) too, in that we can do trade and business with self-serving dictators, because they want those sweet, sweet dolla dolla bills, y'all.

But, the brutal dictator thing can also be bad for the civilized nations, because brutal dictators often get up to international terroristic hijinx (See: Moammar Quadaffyduck- Lockerbie bombing)

If the civilized nations don't give a shit about doing business with whatever shithole, then a "failed state"(See: current-day Libya) is even better than a brutal dictatorship from the civilized nations' standpoint, because the savages are too disorganized, and too busy savaging each other, to get up to any significant international terrorism shenanigans.

"Failed state" sucks for the residents of said failed state, but, what to we care? Let them fight.

That's what Trump said. Let the fight. When the smoke clears you can then decide if you want to business with the victor or cut his head off like a snake. Look, everything in the Middle East is a short term business arrangement as far as I'm concerned. We deal with whoever is the most reasonable at the time knowing full well once they get enough power it will go their head and they have to be taken down. Usually, the next guy in line or not too far down the chain helps and it's his turn in the batter's box. These fools never learn, and to a certain extent neither do we.
