...here’s a brief teaser for Life’s Too Short, in which Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant wring laughs out of the lives of little people. Specifically, the life of Warwick Davis, who plays a fictionalized version of himself as the head of a talent agency called Dwarves For Hire ... The show debuts on BBC2 in the fall should hit HBO sometime in 2012.

Wow, that seems like a paper-thin premise. But it's Gervais and Merchant, so it has to be funny, right?

Sending Karl around the world was thin as hell too, but it worked. I kind of got sick of the Karl schtick, but I watched all of the HBO specials too, so I was worn out already.

Warwick Davis was great in Extras.

Bump for this show's premiere on 02/19. What is the consensus around here on Gervais's other series. The Office or Extras, which is better?

The Office easily. People who say Extras just like to pick the unpopular choice and I don't believe them.

Gervais was funnier when he wasn't training to be an action hero.

Loved both 'The Office' and 'Extras', but 'Life's Too Short' was a big disappointment. It got a pretty hostile reaction in the UK, mainly because it seemed like a rehash of things that had already been played out in the previous series. A big issue is that Warwick Davis just come across like a dwarf version of Gervais. I did have a few chuckles, but it was a big come down from Gervais's earlier work. That said, the Liam Neeson scene is one of the funniest things I've ever watched.

Anyone else watching this? There are definitely some pretty funny moments, but it really seems like a tiny version of Andy Millman.

This week's scene with Johnny Depp and Gervais/ Merchant was fucking hilarious!

Pretty good so far. The Liam Nieson scene in the first episode was hilarious.
