Last night my wife and I were invited to see Loverboy live with her boss'. The tix's were free for us so I wasnt laying out any money to see them. I was very
unsure about how this was going to go being they have not been on the charts since the 80's. It was a very small place here in the Poconos, very nice setting to see a band.http://www.pennspeak.com/index.shtml
Well the show started about 8:15 and went to about 10pm. I was not a huge fan of them in the 80's, I did like a few songs and "working for the weekend" was not one of them. But I have to say They sounded really good for a bunch of old men. I know not very long ago they were on a tv show and the sucked big time. But last night they sounded just like the did in the 80's. They did all of there top hits, plus 2 new songs from an album that just came out and they did a little riders of the storm from the doors and some beatles. Overall I had a great time, and it was a great crowd everyone was really into it .

My bud back in high school used to play bass guitar in a band. He was only 17 but he played the gee-tar crazy good, and he used to play clubs... big clubs in upstate New York on the weekends. So one day I'm over his house and he's practicing, and he starts playing a song, and I'm like, "The fuck? Is that Hot Girls in Love? Are you playing a fucking Loverboy song?" He was like... "I know, I know... but you have to come to my gig this weekend, and you'll see why we play this shit."

So I went to his gig... I was 17 too, so he had to sneak me in the back door.

The show was going good, but then they played 'Hot Girls in Love'... the fucking broads in that place went wild. Dancing around like a bunch of dirty sluts, dry humping each other on the dance floor, and practically running up on stage and blowing the dudes in the band.

Holy fuck... you're 17 years old, and a bunch of chicks in their twenties are WoWing you and practically begging for your hog?

Loverboy? You're fucking A right you'll play some Loverboy... hells ya you will.
