BANGKOK, Thailand - An alleged arms dealer from Russia dubbed the "Merchant of Death" was arrested Thursday in Thailand.
Police Lt. Gen. Pongpat Chayapan said Viktor Bout was detained at U.S. request in a Bangkok hotel amid allegations that he supplied Colombian rebels with guns and explosives.
Bout was widely believed to be a model for the arms dealer portrayed by Nicholas Cage in the 2005 movie "Lord of War."

If a movie as shitty as Lord of War was the story of my life, I'd like, go back to school or something.

It was more unwatchable than most Nicholas Cage movies. And that's saying a lot.

What? That was one of his few decent movies.

I don't see how it's any different than from what our government has done in the past.
We sell/give arms to various groups to further our political agenda and to protect the interests of the United States of America.

Dude sells guns to anybody who can provide cash up-front.

Nope. No difference at all.

Well we only provide weapons to people that we want to do our dirty work for us. At least that Ruskie wasn't telling people that they had to go off and fight someone because he wants the government gone.

So how's that better or worse?

In this post, I'm just saying it's DIFFERENT, in response to your previous post saying you don't see any difference.

If you want a discussion about whether or not this country should have any kind of a foreign policy at all, and whether it should just be nice and isolationalist, totally open, or somewhere in between, we can have that conversation. I'd suggest starting a new thread on this, though.

Is that what you want?

Sure. Thousands of Soviet nukes pointed at us is more dangerous than a bunch of terrorists any day of the week.

Use a rabid dog to fight off the tiger. You're still going to have to put down the rabid dog some day, but at least it isn't a tiger.

TWA800 wasn't taken down by a stinger missle. It was an on-board explosive charge over the fuel tanks in the wing area. The composition used was RDX which is an easily manufactered liquid explosive. It's very powerful though. It's one of the components used to create C4.

Yeah, but what's that got to do with the...

FUCK.

Ok. Hugo->FARC->Russkie. My bad.
Four days after they get a hold of that douche bag Reyes' lap top (which as we speak is probably in CIA hands) they find this asshole who's been invisible for years. I hope there are some high profile American lefties on that hard drive who need to be exposed and corrrrrrrrrrected.
