DA's office to file federal lawsuit in Jamarion Robinson case

Here is doin nuffin...

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - There are new developments in the case of Jamarion Robinson who was shot dozens of times by members of a police fugitive task force back in August 2016.

The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office is expected to file a federal lawsuit Friday against the Department of Justice for its failure to provide important information in the case probing Robinson’s death.

Back in August of 2017, his mother, Monteria Robinson, was asking the same question she is today.

“I want to know why 76 bullets entered my son’s body,” said Robinson.

Robinson was shot to death at his girlfriend’s East Point apartment in August 2016 by members of a fugitive task force.

It included officers from various police departments and the U.S. Marshals Office serving a warrant for his arrest.

Police said they obtained the warrant after Robinson fired at officers at a prior incident.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard has been trying to determine if their actions were legal or not.

Chicago Civil Rights attorney Andrew Stroth represents Robinson’s family.

“The family is pursuing justice and district attorney Howard is taking steps to help the family get this evidence,” said Stroth.

According to a press advisory, the DA’s office will file a federal lawsuit Friday against the Department of Justice for failure to provide information in the Robison case requested through the Freedom of Information Act.

“Clearly people have video and other evidence relevant to the case and all the family is seeking is the truth,” said Stroth.

In their own civil suit against the officers involved, Robinson’s family states they were not trained to execute arrests warrants for people with psychiatric conditions.

Robinson had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Their attorney told FOX 5 News the DA’s lawsuit is a major development.

“The family sees this is a step in the right direction to finding out truly what happened to Jamarion Robinson,” said Stroth.

The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has scheduled the news conference for 11 a.m.

“I want to know why 76 bullets entered my son’s body,” said Robinson. - Cuz he had a gun and shot at the police? I'm curious where he got said gun.

Robinson had been diagnosed with schizophrenia. -
Did he have his "I'm a Nutsy Fagen" sign on?

“Clearly people have video and other evidence relevant to the case and all the family is seeking is the truth,” said Stroth. - And certainly not a payday.

The video shooter should be shot at least a hundred times for good measure.

Why does he have a gun, if he has psychiatric problems? You know...if you care for his well being so much. He could easily use it against family, friends, others as well
