God Damn it..

I was really hoping they would tank the season or use replacement players.

That's very hurtful, sir.

Finally. I was worried about how these guys were going to make their Bentley payments.

Who. Fucking. Cares.

I was also hoping for a tanked season, fuck everyone involved in this lock out, the players and the owners.

I'm over here now.

I think they should start Jan. 1 every year. Who really cares about NBA while NFL is full swing anyway?

it's a man, baby!!!

really, no one watches the games. the only reason anyone cares at all is for betting on the finals

pretty much the only reason the NFL is even in existence too

And 82 games is too many. Cut it back to 70.

I think an 82 game season starting Christmas Day is the best way to go. Extend the postseason into early August and wrap things up just as the stretch run starts in Baseball and NFL preseason starts.

They're playing 66 games.

This was the stupidest shit I've ever seen in my life.

"I CANNOT play a sport that contributes nothing to society except 48 minutes of entertainment value for less that $200 million!!"

You ''work'' (play a game, to be more accurate) 6 months out of the year. I can at least see the reasoning behind NFL players being uptight with negotiations. They actually have real concerns like saftey conditions, ect.

Im sure the team owners are greedy don't get me wrong, but what kind of asshole do you have to be? To leave college where you were earning $0, 3 months later signing a $50 million dollar contract, and then 2 years down the road you feel entitled to more? Because you provide the glorious service to society of playing a game good?

Imagine if humans turned out different, and Chess playing became the major internation sport with billions of dollars being earned. That would be some silly shit for a chess player to be arguing over $1-2 milllion when he's already earning $20-30 a year, just playing a stupid game.

I'm so happy you guys got something to root for besides not UT. :haha7:

You're telling me! I just love that I finally have a team. When you grow up without a team to root for, it's like you're really missing out on something.... Also, it helps they have one of the top 5 players in the world.

I completely disagree. Both the regular season and post season are entirely too long. 60 game season starting January 1st, with a best-of-five only playoffs.

Are you under the assumption that it was a strike? Because if you're, you're wrong. It was a lockout.

Still won't watch, NFL and NHL for the win!
This.

A bunch of ESPN anchors just breathed a big sigh of relief. "Oh thank Christ we don't have to learn anything about hockey now."

Oddly enough, I probably would've watched a few games if they went with replacement players.
