i would say yeah, buy it... especially since no vista... from what i hear it sucks pretty bad...

I think most of the cost on puters is the software you get with it... Its probably just a striped down version... but it will get ya where ya need to go.

It has Vista.

Vista runs just fine on a new machine, contrary to the "hype" The only bad thing about it IMO is User Account Control, which can be easily turned off.

I put all of my pics on cds. I buy them in bulk and it's cheap. Once they are
saved on a cd you can put them back on your computer to print or email
or just take the cd to a store and print them out. Best way to go IMO.

I dont think you can beat that NEW..... also they are from Bestbuy and shit all I'll do is buy it on line and go pick it up, so no need to listen to sales bull shit....

The only thing i hate is the windows is preloaded which is the problem Im having now if i had the fucking disc I can load the bad system32 file and move on...

anyone know where i can download and burn the windows root system32 ntoskrnl.exe file
its the main file that up loads windows on start up mine took a fukcing shit on me maybe throwing my laptop and turning it off with the power button for the past 3 weeks wasnt such a good idea?

Go for it. As much as I despise Dell you can't really go wrong for any laptop under $500 as long as its covered by a warranty.

I bought my laptop from Wal-Mart for a graphics course I was taking (the class was full and the teacher tried using the "no available computers left" excuse so I called her bluff and bought a fucking computer and put my software on it).

It's a Toshiba and I haven't had a problem with it aside from my stupid ass accidentally turning on the "Sticky Keys" function one day and not knowing how to turn it off :p

However they now sell laptops a year later with twice the shit mine has for the same price. I got 1gbram and 120gb HD but now they have 2gb & 200gb HD laptops there. The good thing though is that this is expandable to 4gb ram if I opt for it sometime.
