I work for the state of NJ and I can't stand Chris Christie. I can't say that at work obviously... but this is just insane.
"Conservatives" gonna conserve.
tss tss He shoulda conserved his vetoes or sumthin tss
Why can't he oppose it without vetoing it? Does opposing it mean he'll do anything in his power to stop it? If so, I'd describe him as slightly more than "opposed to gay marriage." I know plenty of people who are opposed to gay marriage but would never proactively try to deny gays the right to get married. Those people oppose gay marriage. Christie actively fights against it.
He's going to veto it and leave it up to the people to vote. He's obviously as you said, actively against it. He doesn't want it to happen. He's hoping against all hope that the people don't vote it in.
That's what I don't get about this country nowadays. What ever happened to "I don't like it, but knock yourself out"? Aren't we supposed to be live and let live kinds of people? Sheesh.
You're so right. This is one of those things that he will do everything in his power not to allow to happen. It's sad actually. At the end of the day I have a feeling that he's going to get picked to be the VP nominee too. I just really don't like him. He's done some good stuff for NJ, but the bad outweighs the good. IMHO.
Nah. It's gonna be Rubio. He's being groomed for 2016 or 2020 already.
And, by the way, my comment certainly extends to liberal America as well. For example, those people I mentioned who are passively opposed to gay marriage are as castigated as those who actively fight against it. It is no longer legitimate to hold the opinion that being gay is wrong in certain circles, even if you are completely live and let live (kinda like that whole miss California thing. Her comment made it seem like she was saying: "Look, I was raised to think that was wrong, but in this country you should be free to do whatever." and she still got branded a homophobe. Same goes for racism and shit like that). No one can give an inch anymore and it bugs me. Line up or shut up.
Santorum/ Christie 2012?
This cracks me up.
Just let the shit dicks get married. What's the big deal??
I wouldn't even mind if this thread degenerated into nothing but Rick Santorum memes.
I haven't read the story yet but I bet it's going to be a little slanted
Why go there? Doesn't sound very tolerant...
It makes sense that this is happening in New Jersey.
Whether you agree with it or not, it's a genius move politically.
Put it on the ballot to let the people vote on it in November.
Get the gay groups from around the country to spend all their money on this instead of promoting Obama.
This, along with all the anti-union votes around the country are going to spread the liberal activists thin.
Anyone up for a Rick Santorum Photoshop/meme contest?
