[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]I just bought the Panasonic TH-42PZ700U.(Good deal-$1349) Can't wait for it to arrive!!

Very well reviewed. Anyone have it or know about it? Any comments, pro or con?

I have DirecTV with a Tivo, any advice/insight re this HD TV and watching regular definition TV? I will likely get the HD package soon.

Not sure but I think he would win if he ran.

You should also get a HD-DVD player. Paramount is releasing all the Star Trek movies in that format. [if you like ST that is]

panasonic makes a decent tv..

go nuts with the HD stuff. It's awesome when you first get it.. now that I've had it for a while, it only depends on what I'm watching.

With a TV like this, every minute spent watching it while you do not have HD service is a complete and utter waste of time, and the TV itself is a complete and utter waste of money. :action-sm

SD looks like shit on a 42" to begin with. If your TV were your wife, she'd fuck a negro until you get some HD.

Not a 1080P plasma TV...

But, I guess if he has a DVD player that's up to snuff, he can enjoy it that way.

With all the time you had before it delivered, why did you schedule the upgrade. I upgraded a few months ago and went straight from the store to Time Warner with my old cable box in hand.

Got home and set the whole shit up.

Star Trek doesn't look that great in HD. In 720p there's a lot of problems in it. the 1080p HD DVD version is better but still has macroblocking and problems associated with a crappy transfer.

If he wants to be impressed he should get a blu-ray player and pop in Apocalypto or Casino Royale.

It's not even out yet. Your just making up shit because you are in love with a format.
