New Seattle basketball arena plan in play

Monday is expected to be a significant day in the proposal for a new arena in Seattle to bring back an NBA team and host an NHL team.
SEATTLE —
Monday is expected to be a significant day in the proposal for a new arena in Seattle to bring back an NBA team and host an NHL team.
The Seattle and King County councils are expected to give final approval to the plan to build the $490 million arena with $200 million in public help.
But the Longshore Union called a news conference to announce a lawsuit opposing developer Chris Hansen's preferred location in the area south of downtown Seattle, near the Mariners and Seahawks stadiums.
The union says another sports venue in the Sodo area will erode maritime and warehousing businesses and threaten the livelihood of union members and other workers.

I hope this goes through. Basketball can fuck itself, but I want a hockey team.

That came up recently in the NHL thread. I think Seattle would be a great market if Phoenix or Columbus or the Islanders or someone else has to move at some point.

It might be a while until they see an NBA team in there and even longer until an NHL team becomes available. I guess in the meantime they could fill it with affordable housing for Shawn Kemp's kids.

Seattle should get rid of all their teams. That would bring down the suicide rates in the city.

But I want St.Louis to get an NBA team...
What if we split them with you? 20 home games here, 20 home games in SEA?

Take your pick from one of these four teams:

Atlanta Hawks
Charlotte Bobcats
Toronto Raptors
Sacramento Kings

I think you'd have to go with Toronto, they might have the best complete roster...
Plus they're almost all foreign, and I like that European-ball feel.

Valanciunas
Bargnani
DeRozen
Calderon
Lowry
Terrence Ross
Acy

That's not terrible
