Am I the only one who doesn't understand why people love starfox so much? It was a shitty flight simulator with shitty polygon graphics.

Am I out of the loop because I had actually played good flight simulators on PC before it came out?
The biggest thing about these two games are not the games themselves. They were actually kind of shity. But the tech for those games were insane for the time. Those two games and only a handful of others had a processor built into the cartridge that allowed for the 3D Graphics that the normal Super NES couldn't handle. The rest is just Nostalgia and love for the N64 version.

Insane for a console for the time, but there were plenty of flight simulators on PC that blew them away.

There are plenty of good to great games on snes though.

A link to the past is one of the best games of all time.

What i wanna know is what's wrong with the consoles we got.

They play pretty good.

What's some of dem other consoles?

The SNES Classic has been released. IDK, maybe you can still find one in a store.

Nope gone... and up on Amazon and Ebay for double their price. I'm sure most were bought by speculators in any case. One would think Nintendo would just make more... but what do I know.

Erock posted something from Best Buy showing different stores' allocations in the New York area. Even huge stores were only getting like 30-40 units. That means ones in smaller towns like around here might get 1 or 2.

Ya it is bullshit... I'm kicking my self for giving my old SNES away like shit 20 years ago. As now they make new controllers and shit for them. Was gonna sell my TurboGrafix but I think I will hang on to it and just order another controller from eBay or Amazon.

I liked it at as a kid but going back and playing it, it doesn't hold up for me. And I'm not saying that because of the graphics.

Well that clears it all up then.

I guess being into PC games made it harder to like shittier games on consoles.

I think the one exception is Goldeneye, which fucking ruled.

But I think Halo is shit.
Too bad we probably wouldn't see golden eye on a n64 mini. It would probably be hard to get the rights.

Nintendo are the masters of the artificial scarcity. But at least with these retro consoles, you can just make your own with a Raspberry Pi and put every retro game ever on it.

Seriously. It's like no one has heard of emulators. You could have the emulator and the ROMs for a given retro consoles entire library in like 10 minutes.

Second year in a row with this shit. I’m going the raspberry pi rout as well.

Being the nostalgic douche that I am I hopped right on Amazon and ordered the Japanese Mini Famicom and the Japanese Mini SNES. This one arrived today. The SNES may not get here until the end of November.

It's really gotten obnoxiously transparent. I wonder why they don't seem to get called out on it more in the press.
I don't know what press you are watching, but the gaming media calls Nintendo out on this shit constantly. Nintendo, as usual for any issue, doesn't give a fuck.

I'm talking more mainstream media. Business section of a metro paper. That sort of thing

I got this on an impulse....

I'd love to get this. I've literally never played any of these games other than FF3/6.
...so I ask, what should I play first as someone who hasn't owned a Nintendo since the Nes?
