    Great article. Too bad it's still 8 years before testing and 18 years before we might start reaping the benefits. Just think how far along we'd be if we spent all of the money defending petroleum supplies from nefarious forces on expanding our knowledge and abilities towards creating limitless power.

    Not really. I mean, sure, fusion propulsion engines are a derivative of this, but fusion power plants can be used the same as coal or nuclear fission plants to power cities.

    We recently breached this topic by talking about He3 (which combined with Deuterium produces a very clean efficient burn). This is definitely something that could, down the road, lead to fusion plants powering lunar stations (there is a lot of He3 on the moon).
