All-Female Ocean's Eleven Reboot May Reunite Jennifer Lawrence With Hunger Games Director Gary Ross

Hunger Games reunion!
By Nicole Carpenter

The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is reportedly being considered for a role opposite Sandra Bullock in the woman-centric Ocean's Eleven film.

The project—which was created by George Clooney, Ocean's producer Jerry Weintraub, and director Steven Soderberg—will be directed by The Hunger Games helmer Gary Ross, with a script by Little Women writer Olivia Milch.

According to Tracking Board, Lawrence is "at the top of the producer's shortlist," so the possibility of a Hunger Games reunion is more and more likely. Lawrence is being considered to play Bullock's "right-hand woman" on a major heist. If Lawrence does sign on, the Ocean's Eleven reboot's cast could rival the loaded lineup of the original films.

The Ocean's Eleven reboot is expected to begin shooting next fall. Lawrence has a stacked schedule, regardless. She's expected to star in a comedy project with Amy Schumer, The Dive with Catching Fire and Mockingjay director Francis Lawrence, and "an untitled drama with Darren Aronofsky."

Odd. This doesn't really bother me, since I kind of expect these things at this point, but giving away cap's speech in CW does.

I guess my annoyance with CW has more to do with disrespecting the source than the feminist bullshit.

How is it feminist to remake something that starred men with an all-female cast instead of making something new with an all-female cast? This is just a cynical excuse to keep mining a franchise for more gold. It's really insulting to women, actually.

10 bucks says they are going to have a sassy black woman and try to fit Melissa McCarthy in there as one of the main characters.

This one doesn't bother me at all really. It's silly and pointless, but frankly so was Oceans 11. It was a fun (remade) movie based on the likability of the cast. To do this with women as opposed to men is just retelling a somewhat generic story with a different group of people and a different perspective. It's women for the sake of women, but this is the kind of movie to do that with.

What bothers me is that they can't just make a heist movie without having to dig up a property less than two decades old.

Then you must not be bothered, since this property is from the 60s.

Apparently, the Ghostbusters sequel debacle has taught them nothing. It looks like Warner Brothers is jealous of all the money that Sony lost on the "all gals reboot" concept.

Another grand caper is underway, but this time with an all-female crew of thieves.
Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter and rapper Awkwafina are close to deals to join Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway and Cate Blanchett for the Warner Bros. heist film "Ocean's Eight," according to sources close to the production.
