New season, new thread.

Premier League kicks off today with Liverpool v Stoke.

Looking forward to see how NBC does on its coverage this year. I know I am not happy at all with Time Warner cable since I can't get one of the channels on my tv or online. Might need to think about Directv or Dish or something.

The silly season has indeed been silly for Arsenal. Not one signing yet. They have missed so many opportunities whilst Tottenham has reinforced their squad.

My guess of top 4 at end of season.

1. Chelsea (Mourinho is back, a couple of good signings)
2. Man City (Couple of good signings)
3. Man Utd (Loss of Ferguson, weak midfield, needs signings)
4. Tottenham (Arsenals squad is too thin and there is only scraps left to sign so Tottenham gets the fourth this year)

Oh c'mon. Yaya Sanogo doesn't fill all your needs? ;)

I'm bummed I have to wait until tomorrow for Spurs. No Bale and probably no Vertonghen though.

Villa! Hopefully we can avoid a similar start as Arsenal tomorrow.

This will be a very rough season for me to be watching. I can't believe Wenger hasn't signed ANYBODY yet. He said in an interview a day or so ago that he has 100 million dollars that he can spend for players.

3 points to the Spurs! Looked pretty good even with Bale out for a couple weeks yet. Last 10 minutes were a little nervy and should've scored more but I'll take the three points considering how poorly we play on opening weekend historically.

Barcelona off to a rough start with a 7-0 win. Neymar was a sub but no goals.

Liverpool is surprisingly doing good this year. Of course it's still early in the season, but if they keep it up they could be playing their way to a Premier League title.

You laugh now, but you won't be laughing after Liverpool kicks the shit out of Man U this weekend.
I hope they do, but you'll be lucky to make Europe, let alone win the league.

Liverpool has a solid roster and when Suarez comes back (and hopefully wearing a Hannibal Lecter mask so he doesn't bite another person like a dummy) they will become more solid down the stretch.

Trabzonspor midfielder Volkan Şen broke down in tears on Monday during a game against Çaykur Rizespor when several spectators heckled him.

Other fans tried to console Şen after his breakdown in the 43rd minute of the game. Florent Johan Malouda replaced the midfielder, who was unable to continue the game.

Three spectators have been detained in connection with the incident. They were released after being interrogated at a police station.

Commenting on the incident, Trabzonspor Chairman İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu said that Şen's behavior was not becoming of a professional player.

“Swearing at players is unacceptable. It is impossible for us to accept such a thing, but it [walking off the pitch] was not becoming of a professional football player,” he said, calling the act childish.

So, that's pretty embarrassing...

This Barca game is crazy. Messi with a hat trick in the first half. Valencia comes back and scores two great goals before the end of the half. A bunch of other chances.
