I hope this isn't the end of Louis C.K. on Opie & Anthony. He is funny.
Do ya really think Louie is scared of Jay? Love to hear that smashfest.
No, but he probably wouldn't want to get made fun of by Opie & Anthony, and Jim Norton though.
i agree, i think Louis has been on the show enough times to know he would be destroyed by Ant and Jimmy if he tried them. He's really funny, but he aint Cumia funny.
Louis C.K. is on a top rated show. He is big time now. He probably got some "advice" on not causing a riffraff on any show.
If there was a beef with CK and Mohrs, what makes you think the boys would side with Mohrs?
That's what I'm saying. Just let Louie & Jay slug it out. Why are you guys acting like Louie would be going against ONA??
Well, just causing some type of controversy is not good period. Jay Mohr basically said "Louis C.K. ignored small time comedians after becoming big". Louis C.K.'s Whole Schick is about being a Non-Mainstream Comedian.
Enough with the Jay v. CK non-issue. Though I find the non-issue hilarious so non-issue gets permission to proceed! Hurray for non-issue!
If there was a fight between CK and Jay on air (which there won't be because I can't imagine Louis getting worked up over Jay Mohr), while O+A might take Jay's side in theory (he is more identified with the show; he was a WNEWer), I really don't think any of the three would say boo as they went at it. Also, Jim is closer to Louis than he is Jay so of EVERYONE on the crew, I doubt Jim would go after Louis. And it's hard to compare Louis and Anthony due to differing comedy styles, but its ridiculous to say that Anthony blows Louis away with his hilariousness.
And Bob Kelly said in his podcast that the management was moving away from having comics on the show in general. I think you are overreacting over a nonissue.
Can this guys ability to makes threads be taken away? Please?
I agree with this sentiment, but would like to add his ability to breathe as well.
O&A don't take sides. They just stir the pot and observe.
His avatar can actually make me dislike Louie after reading his posts.
Slow down. While his career is definitely going good. And he is known throughout the comedic world, I bet you if you took a Nation wide poll, 90% of America (at least) would have no fucking clue to who he is. He is not, let's say, Steve Martin big.
I still think Jay Mohr is more well known than Louis CK.
I am pretty sure he is at this point. Louie is on the rise though while Jay, not so much.
Jay Mohr and Louie CK are two completely different comedians.
I like them both for different reasons.
What an odd example to use. Steve Martin hasn't been relevant in what - 15 years? And that's as an actor. As a stand up comedian - you're talking at least 30-35.
If you're going to talk 70's comedians, I think Louis is as big now as Carlin was back then. Not as huge as the mainstream guys like Cosby and Martin, but pretty freaking big.
CK wrote Pootie Tang. What was the last movie Jay Mohr wrote?
Who did what to who???
Oh good, I'm in before the Memes....
I see some people forget that O and A don't take sides to these things. You need an example? Carlos Mencia/Joe Rogan. Both were on the show (seperate appearances, not together) they really didn't take either of their side and kept it clean.
CK writes, directs, and stars in his own television show. Mohr appeared in Outlaw. Point CK.
Mohr appeared in a Clint Eastwood movie. Point Mohr.
It had Eastwood's lowest Rotten Tomato score since Absolute Power. Point CK.
