This channel sounds right up my alley.
Its called NatGeo here. The channel is pretty awesome.

It was a full show and they split it up into shortss. I was probably 7 or 8 at the time. I mostly just remember the ending narrator saying "braingames....is now...over" with a crying sounding voice.

Is it NatGeo? Because we do have that one. I was just searching my listings and we don't have Smithsonian. :(
Dont know if its the same channel but thats where Brain Games aired here last night.
