I listened to a bit of this. And then it got to the 10 consecutive baby death "jokes," and I was like "oh, still tapping into that well. And it's still going. Edgy." Then I stopped.

"Name something funnier. A dead baby!"
"Hah HAH!"
"An unused cradle!"
"Hah HAH!"
"An unused rattle!"
"Hah HAH!"
"An unused bassinet!"
"Hah HAH!"
The Opie challenge is still out there. You've been challenged to find ANYTHING consistently funnier than Opie's show.

Do you accept?

I lose most challenges put in front of me. Losing at finding something funnier than Opie would probably push me over the edge.

Ugh. It's so annoying. I don't know how anyone can listen to him at this point.

What amuses me most about the Opie Challenge is that O and A would've done the "things funnier than the other program" bit for even longer and the on air personality and caller submissions would've been even worse.

None of these guys have any business pretending like they're some rogue element just dancing on the blade of radio anymore anyways. Relax. Just do your hacky shows.

But The Opster’s doing something new; a shitty podcast.

I would listen to the Opestercast for the douche-cringe pleasure, but I'm afraid I'd hear OpeBro describing what's he's doing as "guerrilla podcasting", and then I'd have no choice but to murder.

The Mags Challenge: make through any Opster podcast.

I haven't been able to.

Murder who? Frank? I think it should be Frank. For science. Plus nobody would even notice or care and you’d get away with it.

Laughing too hard at the consistent funniness no doubt.

Frank is murdering himself, one 8-ball at a time.

Our military should look at using the Opcast for interrogation purposes. Might be a war crime though.

Opie's show wins by default because Anthony's skin and hair are so hard to look at.

Tell Ant to talk an hour in politics and he’ll go for 2 hours. I think part of Ant’s point was that The Opster has no opinion on anything.

Ant rolls along pretty well with Dave now. But I’ll put Any up solo any day over The Opster, given pretty much any subject, except road sodas.
Anthony doesn’t do sports which is what I love about his show, yea they touch on it from time to time but they don’t go on for an hour about plays made in a game 4 years ago, I hate that shit.

I haven’t listened to Opie since before he got fired from XM, my personal opinion is that he gould have just retired after Anthony got fired, work till the end of his contact then just retire from on air with dignity, Take some of his millions and invested it in some other endeavvvvvorrrrrr.
I understand that both of them are narcissistic jerkoffs that’s what made them famous but I have never been able to grasp the concept of having to hold onto a glory that had passed almost 10 years before, when they got fired from terrestrial radio they were at the height of their fame thee was that brief flash during the “walk over” period and even that got blown.
Meh what do I know I’m just a regular joe with my thermos of coffee a broken XM radio and apair of headphones

Starts a few minutes in:

Wow, I didn't realize Opie had torched just about every bridge.

All the O&A circle of jerks are all still friendly with each other... all except Opie... who is hated by basically everyone.

It doesn't surprise me, but to hear Jimmy spell it out like that is pretty brutal.

Jim says he isn't obsessed with Opie, but it's fun to make fun of him. That's the exact same thing the bag haters were saying ten years ago.

They were pioneers in masking their obsession with attempts at humor.

Also, Opie was only mentioned the previous week because Vos brought him up - in response to Opie talking shit about Vos. Even when Opie starts shit he still manages to play the victim. Keep in mind that this is the same guy who "allegedly" uses a fake Twitter account to compliment himself while shitting on Ant, Jim, and Sam.

I feel like we werent obsessed enough. We were right about everything but we let those pesky bag fanboys chime in.
Folks were certainly right that he chewed his food and stuff. #CreditWhereItsDue

In hindsight they definitely kept the show going longer than they should have given the divide between them. The most remarkable thing about the entire O&A saga remains that Anthony wanted to bring Opie to his network. Maybe it was an offer Anthony knew Opie would refuse and he only made it to win favor with his 100,000 subscribers. Even that explanation makes little to no sense because I would imagine many of his subscribers aren't huge fans of Opie.

It's always hard to tell how many haterz there really are. Not just for O&A but for anything pop culture related.

I agree. That was a really strange/dumb decision by Ant.
