Same sort of thing in football ... the lower in the stands you are, the less you see. The worst place to see the game is as a coach, standing on the sideline.

You are on the 50 yard line, front row. Can't tell if the ball is on the 10 or the 25.

The best seats are in the press box or the owners box.

And the zebras make you stay in a box that's only twenty yards long. Add the fact that there's probably a big crowd twisted fucks behind you who will turn on you on a dime, and a smaller number of sadists who will dump ice water on you if things go well and you wonder why anyone is crazy enough to coach. ;)

Yup
We got free tickets to a UW game in Seattle about 10 years ago. Row 1. All we could see was the backs of a couple dozen football players on the sidelines and you could sort of see the game going on behind them.

That would be worse than the coaching box.

That's also where at least one hs around these parts once thought to put the school's band ... until he told the powers that be that he didn't need to be both sight line deprived but also hoarse and deaf.

I remember the long gone Veterans Stadium sold those low level seats for Eagles games too. Great seats for a baseball game I'm sure but worthless for football.
