If anybody cares,we won.1967 Imperial.440 motor,4.30 gears,700+ hours building.Won on ZERO oil pressure and 6 cylinders(plug wires).Got another one this coming Sat. 7/21.Before and after pics.

Ive only seen one dirby when i was a kid... god that looks like fun. That 440 musta sounded bad ass with the velocity stacks.

I'd love to do that one day, be a blast. What kinds of rules are their (the way you build your car, etc).

those imperials are so good that they have been outlawed in some places
yes the early to mid 60 ones were because the frame was so strong they were un beatable

Up to 66 they were full frame with leafs,plus the frame is boxed front to back.Put a shock bumper on one,very strong.We ran a 64,got 5 derbies 14 heats on it,never finished worse than 3rd,it's still going.Has SBC with a Ford 9".The unibodies up to 73 are very strong,but in a different way,believe it or not the way to drive them is to hit with the front.
