Panned/Hated Movies that You Enjoy

Since we're reviewing the world's most loved movies that we hate, I thought it might be appropriate to explore the reverse. What movies that failed, were critically panned, or universally hated do you actually like?

The first that come to mind for me are:

John Carter
Prometheus
Frailty
Lolita (1997 version)
Hudsucker Proxy
Ravenous
Lockout

I'm sure I'll think of more.

I should probably add Waterworld to this list, even if I don't really love the film. It certainly didn't bother me when I saw it so many years ago.

I liked Prometheus although I wanted...more of something.

I see that. It's like the narrative became more than they could handle. I'm hopeful that a sequel will take what worked and make it better.

What's the review cutoff for panned?

Because of the hate in the other thread: The Big Lebowski.

I think it has to be consistent through time. You could take a lot of movies like Psycho or Scrooged and say that they were panned, but no one would think you're odd for liking them now. The goal is to claim those movies you like that most people don't, for whatever reason.

Event Horizon was Goddam awesome. I'll say it again, the 13th Warrior. Loved that movie. After that:
The Watchmen
The Abyss
In the Mouth of Madness
Prometheus

I love me some Pootie Tang. There was a time I could quote any line in that movie.

Does Road House belong here? I can't imagine anyone not loving that movie.

If you're going to include 80s/early 90s likeable trash I can come up with about 20.

How about The Golden Child, only because it was smashed as hard as it was. Even though it was hacked together to jack up the box office, it's not too bad 27 years later.

Tango and Cash
Starship Troopers

Speed Racer +1 Hated the hackneyed "corporations are bad" plot; loved the effects/art direction
John Carter +1 Like a Star Wars prequel with a script

Con Air and Face/Off are completely enjoyable. They're the only two Nicolas Cage movies that I like.

For Half in the Wackbag we watched the 1994 live-action version of Street Fighter with Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia
and it was a totally enjoyable, 3 out of 5, 85 minute punch festival. Nobody in the thread thought it was 1 star worst movie ever territory
yet Rotten Tomatoes has it at 13 percent. I'd watched the entire Twilight Franchise and at least 3 other movies markedly inferior to Street Fighter
in just that week alone. There were probably 4 movies at the local cinema worse than Street Fighter that week.
