I was gonna say...WTF? Why?
Well, right now it's silly. Next week it may not be. Cryptocurrency values are on a decline and some miners are selling their shit
When can you sell an electronic item for a profit after two years of owning it? Almost never. I figure why waste an opportunity.
Plus I've played just about everything I wanted to that is currently out. That was a major factor.
Then there's the fact that I've wanted to buy a spare low end card for years. A GTX 560 was my low end card but its gotten so old that I can't get it to even work anymore.
Finally pulled the trigger and ordered a mechanical keyboard. The Lenovo one that came with my PC seems to be getting flaky.
Hah! I got my 560 to work again.
I plugged it in but kept the display port plugged into the motherboard. Then I installed old drivers and it worked. Crafty Jimcy wins! I can play games again at dogshit resolutions.
My 560 died last year and I'm using an HD 4600 that I yanked out of a dead machine ages ago.
And the card stopped working again when I left the room to go to the bathroom. Crafty Jimcy loses again.
Crafty Jimcy is a queer.
Crafty Jimcy accepts the compliment.
Crafty Jimcy might have another win on his hands.
I managed to grab a 130 dollar MSI GTX 960 2G on ebay last night. Normally people ask 200 bucks for that card.
The guy selling it had 300+ feedback, all positive, and sells nothing but computer parts at decent prices. So I said fuck it and pulled the trigger.
If it works its certainly a major upgrade over the GTX 560 that won't work.
I got my keyboard today. The click sound is quite soothing. I am quite pleased with it.
Is he selling more than one? Linky?
He only had one.
The last time I purchased a used VGA was a Radeon 9800 for Morrowind. So I'm a bit nervous of quality.
That 8900 turned out to be one of the best GPUs I ever owned though.
Hopefully I'll be picking up an 8600k this weekend. Now to debate a Noctua D15 vs an EVGA AIO because MicroCenter has a damn good price on those if you're buying a CPU. Plus, RGB.
But I thought AIOs are literally Hitler...
Yes, I know I'm captain anti AIO. But a 280mm radiator EVGA is a bit cheaper thanks to MicroCenter being in a shithole city with lower sales tax.
Their air cooling selection is hot garbage.
Hope you have a large case.
Update on GTX 960 I got on ebay. It works pretty darn good.
I'm gonna use this till prices become reasonable again or a new launch hits.
Looks like I won't have a chance in hell of getting a 1080ti so I guess I'll wait for the new generation in april
Decided on a Scythe Mugen or or FUMA. Similar performance, half the price.
Either a Corsair 270r or NZXT S340 for the case.
Unless you obsessively check those. Or anywhere similar.
I refuse to pay the jacked up price
Buy mine. I can't get rid of this fucking thing.
That would cost the same as the 340, so when I get a bunch of Pops sold and pull the trigger on this(within a week or so), I'll grab that.
I posted it for 70 bucks, nada.
So I made it 65 and the last day of the auction newegg has a special sale where red 340 elites are 55 bucks after using a rebate.
Reposted it last night for 50 bucks to try and get rid of it. Tired of trying to sell it now.
eBay just sucks to sell on more often than it should be.
Oh shit. Does the elite have tempered glass?
Does it come with the tablecloth, Avedon?
