In conjunction with this past weekend's Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), Hothead Games has announced the launch of a new Web site dedicated to the forthcoming game, "Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness." The game is coming to Mac OS X, Windows and Linux platforms.

Currently in development by Hothead Games, the game is the first installment of an episodic series featuring Penny Arcade characters Gabe and Tycho. It features point-and-click-style adventure gameplay set in alternate 1920s-era universe, a "Create-A-Player" system that lets you play the game as a customized male or female character, a dynamic turn-based combat system and more.

Penny Arcade is a webcomic updated (typically) thrice weekly that covers video games and video game culture. Over the past five years the site has grown to attract 55 million page views a month; it's popular enough to sponsor both an annual gaming convention (PAX) in the Seattle, Wash. area and Child's Play, a gamer-driven charity that donates games and toys to sick kids in children's hospitals worldwide.

In related news, Hothead Games also announced plans to bring On the Rain-Slicked Precipice of Darkness to Xbox Live Arcade in early 2008. The game will be available for download for users of the Xbox 360 game console who have accounts on Xbox Live Arcade.
