I have decided to expand my horizons, but I'm not totally sure where to start.

Politics in this country are changing quickly and we kind of sit in a unique point in history because of it. As I have learned more, my own view of where my own politics lie is starting to change. Not my opinions, per say, but the way the opinions of someone who thinks like me are characterized. The fact that I may have to start referring to myself as a Classic Liberal has thrown me for a loop.

So I ask this, is there a single book that you feels sums up your political point of view? Yeah, that's simplistic, but I'm just looking for base lines here.

Or maybe a book you totally disagreed with that you found interesting?

A little blurb about what you think of them would be great.

Stupid Rubin Report may have permanently rewired parts of my brain.....

Atlas Shrugged. Not necessarily because it's so great, but because I want a thread that takes longer to conclude than Joey's.

He'll give you a great list of books to read.

To clarify, I'm not saying read the books. Just read the list, and you'll be sick of the subject.

The closest thing I have to that would be Markets Not Capitalism: Individualist Anarchism Against Bosses, Inequality, Corporate Power, and Structural Poverty (edited by Gary Chartier and Charles W. Johnson). I went into it skeptical of its premise (which advocates, among other things, free-market socialism and specifically left-wing libertarianism and argues against capitalism as being in opposition to free markets), but I found its case ultimately compelling. The book is written more for people that are already anarchist libertarians (like me), so it doesn't really get into anarchism itself. For that, I would say the first half of Michael Huemer's The Problem of Political Authority: An Examination of the Right to Coerce and the Duty to Obey is a good summation of my politics.

You forgot to have someone slap their dick up on the signal. That would've gotten me out of the Fag Cave like an oh so fabulous flash.

And with that, off we go.

"Don't talk like you're one of them! You're not — even if you'd like to be. To them, you're just a freak, like me. They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out — like a leper. See, their "morals", their "heterosexuality"... it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of arousal. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these, ah, "normal men"? They'll blow each other. They're only as straight as the world allows them to be."

Because he's the homo Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now, so we'll bugger him. Because he can take it, because he's not a homo. He's a silent faggot, a watchful shit packer, a Dark Queer.

Eight posts. It took eight posts for your thread about political books to derail to comic book references.

Edit: Sorry... gay comic book references.

Wavy.

You either bugger a hero or you live long enough to see yourself cum in the villain.

Well I'm sure they aren't movies based off "Common Sense" or "The Communist Manifesto".
We don't choose how the quote game starts. It's organic.

I'm not giving you shit for the quote game, I'm giving you shit for trying to better yourself via wackbag. Knock it off, there's no call for that.
