I tried it and it was exactly what I expected. The sharp provolone was bitter and musty, and the gabbagool (I think that pronunciation is pretty much entered into the lexicon now, though there are tinges of douchechills) and prosciutto ("bruhzhoote" can eat my ass) were full of cured-y richness. And though they go out of their way to hide their prices, they were about what I expected too - 10 bucks for about 10 inches.

But even though it was everything I wanted it to be, I still thought it was too rich. Does anyone eat there regularly and can recommend a better sub from their menu?

I love the pork Diablo and the "Nellie". I've had the Tuna Diablo and thought that quite good as well. I still don't know what you ate.

I'm a big fan of really crusty rolls. You can cut your gums on a Primo. There are some decent deli places around here but not everyone uses good meat. I think Primo has some pretty good product.

I just realized I fucked up and got the Old Italian. I should have got the Sharp Italian - it's the same but with salami. The salami would have sort of watered it down, I think. The OI just had too much prosciutto. As much as I love to eat it plain like Tony raping the fridge before passing out on the kitchen floor, it was just overwhelming. They don't really put a lot of lettuce onion tomato on it either.

It's the opposite of Subway. You get a ton of meat instead of weighed deli and cheese and infinite amounts of veggies.

Never ate there. I use smaller non chain hoagie shops around here.
x2 im not a big fan, also i prefer an amarosos roll the primo rolls are too crusty for my liking and the meat and stuff is way too "rich" i forget which hogie i got but it took two days to eat it because it was so dry. i would rather get a hogie from coco's or the old jims, the exception to that rule would be a capriotie's bobby

I like Primos but they arent my favorite. Definately good though.

They use Thumann meats which are pretty delicious. I also like the finely shredded lettuce.

The roll makes the sandwich for sure. I prefer crusty rolls that cut the roof of my mouth.

My favorite hoagie is at a place called Voltaco's in Ocean City, NJ.

PS - Wawa makes the worst hoagies

The White House in Atlantic City makes great hoagies.
When I worked in the South Philly Automall we used
to send a guy out the A/C expressway to grab lunch
there at least once a month.

I think the White House is pretty much the gold standard by which others are judged.

Sure there are plenty of local places who do a better job, but who knows about em?

Don't say Wawa is the worst. Please. They're just overrated. You'd rather have a Subway than a Wawa? Seriously?

Wawa is a good sandwich. I don't know what the fuck Subway is. It's just gross. I don't know how they stay open.

Primo crusher is where it's at. We would eat Primo's at the golf course all the time, there was one right up the street.

The materials used in Wawa sandwiches arent bad, with the exception of the skinny rolls

The real problem is the shoddy craftsmanship. Nothing worse than a load of mayo coming out the rear of the sandwich on the first bite. There's a button on the self-order that says "Little bit of mayo" - always ignored with spatula full.

That is the house special. It is an Italian with double the meat. It's like 14 bucks, but as you can see, it is really built for two (or one Woodfloor licker).

I ate half and brown bagged the other half. They give you a Styrofoam container perfect size for 1/2 if you ask.

Best hoagies I've ever had were from Aston's Market in Upper Darby
My old neighborhood
Was an oldy time supermarket , pretty small
Sadly , Gooks run it now

Never could find a good replica of them
It was Perfect

Primos is OK
Rolls are a little tough to chew through

Bettter off making my own with the Amoroso rolls now

And I'll pass on WAWA
Don't want some Pre-ordered system of making a sandwich
