Good.

One less past his prime former great I don't have to watch decline even more.

Even TRT didn't help. Good Riddance, I don't like watching guys put out mediocre efforts for a paycheck.

Let Rampage go be the next Bob Sapp taking any fight any time for a pay check.

This sums up my feelings.

Rampage hasn't put on a good fight in a while.

He looks horrible even when he wins.

His heads been out of it a while. His last entertaining fight was 3 years ago with Jardine. And the whole not giving a fuck, bad ass, asshole, street, whatever the fuck thing was fun until he started looking slower, more reserved in the cage. He's a legend, but Come on.

UPDATE : He wants to be released from his contract....

I wouldn't be surprised if he fights Fedor if he gets released...

Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson Requests Release From UFC
Written by Tom Ngo
March 10th, 2012

Four days ago, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (Pictured) professed he would be done with the UFC after his next fight. However, it appears the former light heavyweight champ wants out now. He took to his Twitter on Friday night and requested to be released from the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion.

“Well I’m hoping the @ufc just let me go so I can do my thang, they took my love of fighting after the Forest fight! #bloodtypeBpositive,” Rampage tweeted. “I can fight better fights n a diff show!”

Rampage seems to have lost the pep in his step after losing his crown to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the 33-year-old has threatened to leave the UFC. In September of 2009, he claimed to be done with fighting because of the UFC’s perceived mistreatment. Instead of taking a top contender fight against Rashad Evans at UFC 107, Rampage accepted the role as B.A. Baracus in “The A-Team” movie, much to the dismay of UFC president Dana White.

Speaking of getting on your boss’ bad side, Rampage drew the ire of Octagon brass when he revealed following last month’s loss to Ryan Bader that he was prescribed Testosterone Replacement Therapy by his doctor prior to the fight. Taking the controversial treatment is one thing, but what got Rampage in hot water was when he stated, “So I spoke to the UFC and they were like, ‘Yeah, a lot of fighters are probably doing it but not telling anyone.’”

The quote has since vanished from FightersOnly’s interview.

While the controversial 205-pounder would like an early exit, it’s unlikely White will grant him his wish with at least one fight remaining on his contract.

Rampage has posted a 7-4 mark under the UFC’s watch, but has dropped two consecutive scraps.

Honestly, I am at the point where I would just release him.

The only thing he brings to the cage is his name recognition.

It seems like he just wants to fight cans or something.

Just curious, if he was a likeable guy, never talked shit, and never made boasts about how he was the best, would people still want him gone? I understand it's a little sad when a former great becomes less great, and it's tough to watch them fight at lesser levels, but I can't empathize with that. There are still dozens of LHWs in the UFC he could either beat easily or would make a pretty even match up with. Are you telling me none of the fights at those levels have the potential to be entertaining?

If you just hate the guy, no problem, I get that. But there are two very different reasons to want him to hit the bricks. Extremely different. And I get confused where people are coming from.

1. Hate him, always hated him, wish he'd go away.
2. Loved him or at least loved his fights, have a sad watching him now.

Personally, I never really hated the guy, but I get annoyed pretty much every time he opens his mouth. If he was still a contender and putting on great fights, I could deal with the antics and get excited to see him in the cage. As it stands now, sayonara.

Me too.... in 2004.

Again, if you hate an athlete in professional sports I completely respect that, that's your right as a an American male. But the other side of it is just so different. Why does it matter that he's not a contender? Is every fighter who's not a contender NOT WELCOME HERE?

And I'd disagree if you were saying he didn't put on good fights (you didn't say that. you just said he's not putting on great fights.) His fights aren't bad.

Because he will always get ME/Co-ME slots even though he hasn't had a GOOD fight since he won the title.

He is a BORING fighter now, and he bitches about "don't put me against wrestlers" FUCK THAT JAZZ.

If you only want easy fights then take a pay cut and fight on the undercard.

I probably wouldn't mind if he didn't hype every fight as "His return to glory" and then when it is fight time he acts like he is half asleep in the fucking cage.

He was GIFTED a title shot for beating fucking Hammil.... Hammil!??!?! what the holy fuck is that shit.

In other words, as long as he is fighting, there is at least one guy whose place he is taking who actually WANTS to be in there and WANTS to be the best, not just to collect a paycheck.

Of course not. There are plenty of guys I like to see fight who aren't in the title picture (Leben, Kongo, Roy Nelson). I'm just saying that, in this specific case, I only want to see him if he's at the top of his game. An average Rampage who still constantly flaps his gums holds no interest for me.

Yeah, I guess if he's still "flapping his gums" like a ME guy while obviously not being one, I can see if it rubs people the wrong way.

He actually wants more money & I agree about others WANTING it
After Griffin beat him he cried & pouted & realized he would never be considered the "best" again & phones it in
The sport & UFC is better without him

Dana stuck by him when few did & he bitches every chance he can

That's what I don't get either. The UFC and Dana have done a lot for Rampage, for him to whine about him not getting paid enough is stupid. He's probably one of the best paid fighters in the UFC and he has the nerve to say he isn't paid enough?

Either he's completely lost it, or maybe, just maybe, he's using that tactic to get a better contract. That might be given Rampage too much credit though, but with one fight left in his contract and his recent use of TRT, anything is possible.

He has probably been offered 1-2 million to fight Fedor.

And no, I have no source for this whatsoever, I just can't imagine where else he thinks he would get anywhere close to the money the UFC is paying him.

No way he would get that much, they couldn't make that money back without major PPV & they don't have that
He is talking out of his ass - A Rampage udual

Dana stood by him when he was "dehydrated" & almost killed several people & he has done nothing but fuck with him since

UFC stole his passion after Griffin beat him? What BS
