Ok, I like the idea behind this gadget, tells the cars engine management to favor 4cyl mode versus 8cyl mode. Something I've wanted to do for a bit over the last 3 Avalanches and 519,000 miles in 8.5 years. I do average 16.2 mpg, but I've noticed if I go below 60 the system spends half it's time in 4cyl mode on the flat highway.

Question is, has anyone ever heard of this company? I am having trouble finding any reviews, and this leads me to believe it's shit. The $200 cost would be paid by work, but I do not want to look like an asshole for buying shitty products.

Never heard of them.

When it comes to this type of stuff
I tend to not believe the claims.

Car companies do a pretty good
job of getting max fuel economy
out of their vehicles these days.

Yea, as said I am waiting till I see a legit review. I'd love to tell the system to use 4cyl on a flat road going 75mph with the cruise on.

Never heard of it. Seems like it may work similar to that fob that Progressive Insurance offers, only it changes the AFM characteristics based on driving habit instead of reporting to your insurance company.

[tinfoil hat] If BB1 never heard of it, maybe it's just a plot from big bother to tracks teh gays

This. If you could build a hydrogen generator out of a mayo jar that lets you get 100 mpg in your Mustang, don't you think the engineers at Ford would have incorporated the earth-shattering technology into their engines long ago?

You could, but the guy that invented it ate at Denny's.

Every time I blow through the warenty period (100k miles, usually 18 months) I consider having one of our employee's go through the heads to get more efficiency. The fucker took a 318 out of a 1980 Dodge pickup and got 487hp using stock block/crank/heads, but he put about 100 hours into the port job on the heads. Dyno guy got pissed off at him because he got better burn/etc then the dyno guy can get.

that is a perfect example of how to actually increase fuel efficiency and make a better motor, increase cubic inches or force more or better air flow, farting around with the ECM is really just a waste of time for the minimal horse power increases
