People like this are a danger to us all (even though Rick has absolutely no chance of winning).

Agree with the first part, but don't dismiss his chances so easily. He's got a pretty decent record business-wise of running his state and that's going to be more important than anything else next year. Even if he doesn't win the nomination I could see the GOP palinizing him as the VP pic to throw a bone to the conservatives if a RINO like Romney wins the nomination.

Why? I'll start worrying about this guy when he flies an airplane into a building.

So that is your first qualifier for being a religious lunatic? How about his creationist/revisionist rants and his state spearheading the changing of textbooks on science? Do these even hit your radar screen for being a kook?

If Shirley from WBC ran for President and was economically conservative, can she count on your vote???? I love you Don, but you can't be a little bit pregnant when it comes to these religious morons that want to run a country based on thier skewered WWJD motives.

When he actually tries to legislate a state religion, which could never possibly happen. We have a guy running the country now that went to a black separatist church for 20 years. I don't blame the church for his fuck ups.

Here's something to think about. Why Rick Perry? Why now? No one gives a shit about this guy and all of a sudden he's the new Sarah Palin. Could there be something they're trying to avoid discussing? Like how we may have to start buying stealth fighters at buy here pay here lots?

How are Little Barry's economic policies & ideology any different than a goofy religion?

You can no more change the laws of supply and demand than you can change the laws of physics.

How has that affected a single decision he's made as President? If you want a list of ways religion has affected Rick Perry's decisions in politics, I'm sure we can find enough bandwidth to provide all that.

Because fundamentalists are dangerous no matter what religion they break off of.

You're better than that old argument.

It shouldn't matter why someone makes a decision. What should matter is the substance of the decision, and the politicians that make the better decisions tend to pander to old bible thumpers. Who fucking cares?

This is something that always bothered me about Bush. I also still say the religion thing was just a crutch to keep him from doing too much coke.
