OK, I'll admit my complete ignorance. I'm begging for someone to explain to me why questioning the influence this pastor may have had over the President of the United States worldview is "racist"? I know plenty of bat shit crazy churches, white and black that I would question voting a parishioner of. Why is showing this pastor and his angry rants consider race baiting and off limits, besides the obvious reason of Mitt Romney not wanting to open his own wacky religious upbringing into the spotlight.
Because Obama is a democrat, and you're never allowed to call a democrat or anyone he associates with for over 20 years racist.
That I understand. I just know there are lefties on the board that I hope would attempt a cohesive argument.
I think I've been in more christian churches than Barry has, and I don't think I've ever been in one, other than for weddings and basement sales
It's the same logic as saying I grew up watching Al Bundy and Homer Simpson on TV, so automatically I am going to be a bad/irresponsible father/parent.
No, it's more like saying you were friends with Susan Smith for 20 years, and THAT might make you an irresponsible parent.
You'd think with Michelle being on that nutrition crusade he'd be getting proper amounts of Vitamin D...
If Al Bundy and Homer Simpson were looked up to as community leaders and preached their 'morals' and racist hate speech in your families church for 20 years...then yes. It's exactly the same logic.
They were both big stars on highly rated television programs broadcast weekly to millions of Americans. I guess MwC was only on for about 10 years but Simpsons is >20 years right now.
This still doesn't address why it's racist to question it. I don't even think its that important since Obama is so weak in so many other areas, but why do the libs get to immediately cry racism over this church? --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?4fqd1w
The OP was asking for an attempt at a cohesive argument, not at an attempt at reaching new heights of retardation.
It isn't racist, it is just one of the stupid PC things that have become politics in this country. Honestly, this came up last election and it didn't work like they wanted so I have no idea why they think it would work this time considering that Mormons are the second wackiest religion after scientology. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it is Romney's camp putting the kibash on this. Sent from my HTC Mecha using Tapatalk 2
So how many millions are being pissed away by the PAC's trying to remind us of Rev Wright (and the whole birther thing). Those worked so well last election cycle, they'd be stupid not to bring them up again :smackhead:
I'll put Mormons up against Black Liberation Theology any day. There's a difference between "wacky" and "dangerous".
Again, not asking for it's effectiveness. Why is questioning this pastor and his ideology racist? I have an understanding of what Black Liberation Theology but I want someone to tell me why Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews and Paul Begala get away with dressing anyone who brings up Jeremiah Wright in klan robes?
Some people don't know what you're taking about. I don't watch MSNBC so I've never seen this. You started a thread bitching about something without posting any links to it.
