ok, i have decided that me and BoB;) are going to drive to california, in pepe' the bug, our final destination is going to be san francisco then LA then vegas, other than that there is no other plan except that it has to be done in two weeks.....

feel free to call me an asshole,
but i have my reasons, i took a road trip with my exwife through montana when we were dateing after that trip i decided that i could not spend the rest of my life with her... 17 years ago, both BoB;) and i feel that if we can pull this off with out killing each other, then maybe this "thing" really is good...

any suggestions? other than "DONT DO IT!"

oh and i forgot to add..... i have never taken two weeks off ever.... and im going to take the title to pepe' and keep it with me, if he shits the bed im going to leave him on the side of the road and finish the trip flying.

lol BoBs a big girl, she might want to throw me in.... that is kind of the beauty of this trip, she has the means to just fly home at any time. we have spent plenty of long weekends together with out a problem i really have my fingers crossed that this wont become a disaster

In SF try to avoid the fisherman's wharf. Its got more zips than Chinatown. Alcatraz is really toursity but its actually really interesting and its falling apart fast so its probably worth it. Prepare to be underwhelmed with LA, its a very suburban city and unless you hit Disney there isnt a whole lot to do. In Vegas, be sure to get a hooker and when your car eventually shits the bed leave her in the trunk for whoever gets the car. Thats just what I would do, most would say kill her but Im not a violent guy.

looks like more honer than dont, also there is the "safe passage" so even if i take it with me as long as im not carrying it in the states that deny a citizens right to carry they have to allow me to at least transport it. i actually have been thinking about this issue.

Alcatraz is worth it. If your girl is really getting on your nerves, have her dress up with expensive jewelry, put $1,000 in her wallet, and send her out on Bart to the east bay at 2 AM.

When driving from SF to LA, take Highway 101/1 along the coast. Avoid the central valley, there's absolutely nothing to see there.

If you're into wine Napa Valley is only 1+ hours north of SF. If you're into golf courses/giant houses you can drive around Pebble Beach on your way to LA.

Where do you live and which way are you driving into SF? If you're coming through Northern Nevada Tahoe is great... if you're coming through central Nevada/Eastern California it's worth a day to check out Yosemite Valley.

Philly to San Francisco. No speeding between Omaha and Lincoln. Let me know if you want any recommendations for a good dinner. Remember we keep the best steaks for ourselves and sell the shitty stuff to the rest of the world.

If your doing the "fast food" and "cheap motel" road trip, plan on at least splurging at Caniglia's Steak House or The Drover. Both are world famous, and I would throat punch children for a chance to get an off the menu Whiskey Steak at The Drover.

Starting in St. Louis, do the old Route 66 run. It gets especially good west of Amarillo.

I was hunting antelope in the Red Desert in WY and at the gas station was a picture of a freeze-dried mummified woman. They found her just off the interstate on a dirt road after spring thaw. Cause of death was what they thought might have been an ice pick rammed up the old nose and stirred. It said the place they found her had an area big enough to turn around an 18 wheeler, and any info would be great. I didn't recognize her, but I haven't met many mummies anyway.

me and 2 friends drove from philly to the LA area (Riverside) and back and few years ago.

It was cool one way seeing it all for the first time.

We drove a GMC Denali w/ a 25' enclosed trailer with a 900hp Toyota Supra inside.

Fun times, but Id never do it again.

I remember the good old days when I was on the World's Fastest Street Car Competition & EFI Challenge. Chicago, Memphis, Orlando, Riverside, Houston, Englishtown.....awful truck stop food and having to sleep in the trailer because every year a hand full of guys would get their entire setup up stolen - trailer/truck/car.

I retired after guys started showing up with cars running 6's. Too rich for my blood.
