Sucks when your heart explodes at 38.
Who? Should I know this person? "whaa"
That's what he gets for not getting a haircut and shave like a normal person.
did you watch baseball in the late 80s/ early 90s?
if so, yes
more like early 90's through 2004. But the sentiment is the same. You obviously don't watch too much baseball if you don't know who Rod Beck was.
So, were he and Barry sharing needles?
He was a great guy and loved to play the game. Unfortunately, he allegedly had quite the drug problem so that would be my fist guess on why he died.
Great, I guess I am next :icon_eek: wait a minute I am 38, FUCK!
I didn't recognize the name but as soon as I saw the pic I remembered him. That really sucks.
I wasn't really shocked that he died considering his recent past. I was shocked that he was only 38. He looked like he was 38 about 15 years ago.
I didn't have him in the office death pool. A real shocker.
always got him confused with randy myers or someone
Best mullet this side of Billy Ray Cyrus!
Goose Gossage wanna-be
It looks game over...for this closer
"tell Beck to start warming up in the bullpen".................NO HES DEAD!!!!!!!
R.I.P Shooter. I shall remember thee for the 51 saves you had for my Cubbies in 98'.
R.I.P. Shooter. You meant more than Crippler ever did.
Any time a guy that looks like me and acts like me becomes an All-Star in a sport, I like that sport more.
was he the inspiration for "wild thing" charlie sheen's character in major league or did he get the nickname from the movie?
I can't count how many times he almost gave me a heart attack that year...but it was always a fun game when he was on...
i liked rod beck and his personality...i guess he didn't.....sad story
No, I don't even recall him having the nickname "Wild Thing" Mitch Williams the former Phillies closer was known as the Wild Thing, and anyway the movie Major League came out in 1989, a few years before either Williams or Beck were relevant.
ha ha i remember when the astros took a chance and signed mitch williams after the 93 season lol.....man the stros were good when the STRIKE hit.....god dammit...jeff bagwell was totally killing the ball that year....then his arm got broken
