Could be pretty cool.
I was hoping it would be about something cool.
Looks pretty fucking great to me.
Ron Howard makes excellent movies.
Days of Thunder part deux.
In what way? This is a movie about racing. Days of Thunder wasn't.
The racing thing. Not a big seller to anyone but racing fans.
Ok, that puts Days of Thunder a notch above this movie.
You're a fag. (but don't tell THP about this)
Wow I got to disagree. IMO Ron Howard is the most boring, pedestrian, bland successful director working today. Grand Theft Auto was ok but beyond that he takes any genre and makes it sleep-inducing. He has no style - how would one describe a "Ron Howard film"? And who would have thought Clint would be the good-looking one? I heard A Beautiful Mind was supposed to be really good but I never saw it because it was directed by Ron Howard.
I just looked up the true story that this is supposedly based on, and honestly it sounds like it could make for a good movie.
No director has a 100% track record, sir. We'll just have to agree to disagree.
There are others, but PT Anderson is the first that comes to mind.
Also, A Beautiful Mind stunk.
Wow that trailer really really really showed the entire movie. No desire to see it now.
Spoiler Alert: Apollo 13 returns safely to Earth.
It's a historical movie. The end is already known.
Watching it now. Most exciting movie I've seen in awhile.
Whenever I see you posting in an old movie thread I'm expecting the movie to suck. I'll have to check this one out.
This one is good. Even better if you know anything
about F1 racing but I think it holds up fine even if
you're not a big fan.
I don't know a freaking thing about racing. But I don't know anything about rocket science and I enjoyed Apollo 13.
It did. And Crowe's performance wasn't that great either.
I'm struggling to think of a Crowe movie you can't say this about.
I liked him in LA Confidential, The Insider, and Noah, at least.
I haven't seen any of those movies. I guess he was ok in State of Play. I didn't think much of him in Gladiator, MoS, Les Mis, 3:10 to Yuma, Master and Commander, Mystery Alaska, or Robin Hood.
I didn't think much of Gladiator either, but people liked it so what do I know. You know my thoughts on MoS, and I liked his "fuck me, no fuck you, who's this red head, I want to fuck her" take on Jor-El, I didn't mind him in Les Mis, Liked 310, never saw MAC, MA, or RH.
