I have been going to Vegas for 15 years been there 40+ times, and it has gotten worse especially the last 3 years or so. I wonder why :icon_roll

Four bystanders were hit by gunfire on the Strip early Sunday morning, after a brawl involving about 20 men erupted outside a restaurant near Flamingo Road, Las Vegas police said.

The victims, all in their mid-20s, included at least one tourist, police said. No one was seriously wounded and by Sunday afternoon all of the victims, except the female tourist, who is from California, had been released from local hospitals.

The fight started about 3:15 a.m. on the sidewalk in front of Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Cafe, when two men bumped into each other, police said. Two groups of men, totaling about 20, began arguing and soon started throwing bottles, cans and punches, police said.

"Witnesses described it as a miniriot," said officer Ramon Denby, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department.

During the fight, one of the men pulled out a gun and began firing toward O'Shea's, a casino next door to Margaritaville, police said.

The gunfire struck four bystanders in the legs. After the shooting, dozens of people, including the four shooting victims, took shelter inside O'Shea's, police said.

Police were on the scene within seconds of the shooting, but by the time they arrived the men involved had fled, Denby said.

Police were reviewing surveillance footage of the fight late Sunday but hadn't yet identified the shooter. Denby said the gunman is between 17 and 21 years old, thin, and was wearing a baggy, white T-shirt and baggy pants. Police didn't know if the shooter or the men involved in the melee are local residents or tourists.

According to the Flamingo Las Vegas, which owns O'Shea's and is a part owner of Margaritaville, the suspects and victims weren't guests at their hotels.

The shooting was the third on the Strip in about a month and a half, but it didn't dampen the spirits of people at Margaritaville on Sunday afternoon.

The bar was filled shoulder to shoulder with people socializing. Others, drinks in hand, mingled on a walkway in front of the bar and restaurant.

Most people interviewed Sunday afternoon didn't know a shooting had occurred hours earlier. "We live in L.A.; L.A. is just as bad, if not worse," said Tim Moore, 24, who was spending a few days in Las Vegas.

Dave Bradley, a 47-year-old a firefighter from Kansas City, Mo., also said he wasn't frightened by news of the shooting. When asked if it would affect his vacation, he replied: "I wasn't shot. I'm good."

On July 6, 51-year-old Steven Zegrean opened fire from a second-floor mezzanine inside the New York-New York, wounding four people, none fatally.

Bystanders tackled Zegrean, ending his shooting spree.

Zegrean told police he was depressed about losing his job and had hoped police would shoot and kill him. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder with a deadly weapon and battery with a deadly weapon.

On Aug. 4, 34-year-old Richard Earl Shepherd opened fire inside Caesars Palace after fighting with a man he believed had been disrespectful to his sister. Shepherd wounded two bystanders, police said.

Shepherd turned himself in after the shooting. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder with a deadly weapon, battery and assault.

Denby said police have almost tripled their numbers on the Strip recently. It was unclear if that is in response to the recent shootings.

hahahah you think I would take my chick to the 4 queens???

I stayed at the bellagio, and checked out rio, ventian, ceasers, Paris, and planet hollywood.... Niggs everywhere

I didnt see many going to the guest elevators in bellagio since you need to show your key card but in every casino and near all the over priced shops there were plenty of thugs.

We checked out freemont one night which was a shit load of fun but WAY seedy

Just watch you and your girl on the street, its not the Vegas of old.
Freemont was a trip man.

Watching a gang of 4 trying to pick up a white girl (like a 9) at the taxi stop in front of venetian was fucking hysterical

on a different note, anyone ever hear of the Vegas "20 dollar trick" ?

I read about it on a few different websites and messageboards. Basically when you check in your supposed to slip a 20 between your license and credit card and hand it to the concierge. You then ask her if they have any complimentary upgrades available.

Didnt believe it for a second but figured fuck it, Im gonna blow this 20 anyway at the casino so I'll give it a shot. I did it and BAM got a room that was 50 bux extra a night for a fucking 20 spot.

While my brother and everyone else who came with us got a GREAT pool view this is what me and AF were looking at for 4 nights for a measely 20.

It's just the beginning folks. When a rope falls down you can't push it back up.

Escape from NY is looking like a sooner than later reality tv show.

What I gather here is swoogs vs parot heads.... but they had to pull out guns on a bunch of guys in Hawaiian shirts.

The room we were supposed to have was 199 a night, the lakeview room, which is the same exact room as the normal room except for the view is an extra 50 bucks.

Ill try and find the sites I heard this on, there is one that list stats that the posters report. Bellagio had a 45 out 50 success rate according to one of the sites.

I also heard if they dont upgrade you they will give you your money back, not sure how true it is but like I said it was WAY worth it.

simple site with a FAQ

Exactly what I was thinking. Although we all know who wears long, baggy, white t-shirts. Schwoogies and 17 year old Jim Norton.

I flew in the day after the NY, NY shooting, and didn't know about it til I got there. We stayed at the Palms and the only schwoogies I saw were from the NBA Development League, because it was Summer League that week, but they were all friendly to us.

We also met Nelly the shit rapper and Sully from Godsmack - both staying at the Palms.

Also, I didn't notice more thugs this year then last year. What I did notice is that in my three trips there I have never once seen a cop car on the strip. I've seen cops and troopers inside casinos, but never out patrolling the street.

we were there

We me, wife, sister and brother inlaw were right there. I tore cartlage in my shoulder from diving out of the way. We were walking back to our room. We were staying at the Flamingo timeshare. Very nice. I was in the crosswalk passing Oshea's and heading to Margaritaville. Saw a bunch of black guys. They were arguing and then puches were being thrown. I actually thought it was pretty neat. Next thing I know, someone threw a glass bottle. I felt glass shatter on my legs. There was a bike cop right there heading tward the fight. Next thing I hear is pop, pop, pop. I kinda dove/tripped behind a taxi there at the light. I drove my shoulder into the groud. I was really lucky the cab didn't take off. He would have run over my legs. My sister grabbed my wife and the dove under a blackjack (I think) table in Osheas. The guy who was next to my sister got hit. If she would have been a foot to the right, she would have been hit. So about a minute later when there was somewhat calmness, I found my family. I saw a guy who was hit in the leg. I'm glad I didnt have to do CPR. I passed the class, but it's different when youve just been shot at. We were talking with everyone around us. A guy who was standing next to the shooter said he starting running twards the Flamingo and was just blindly shooting, as he was running. Thats real "street". The street was packed there and it was just a numbers game. My shoulder feels better now, but for like 3 days, I couldnt move my arm. X rays were negitive, but I get a second MRI tommrow, to see what has to be done. Sunday, we just sat at the pool and drank and partied. I guess we really shouldnt have been out at 3:15 am. We got back to the room about 4:30. I'll post some pics tommrow.

BTW, wew were at the Palms Sunday night. Didnt know there was some kinda playboy pool party at 1 am. Lots of playmates nude, in just body paint. Fucking amazing. Joe
