So my tub started draining slower and slower so I decided to snake it. Initially I pulled out a little bit of gunk but the farther down the drain I got the harder it was to get the snake going. Eventually I hit a point where I couldn't get any farther and after I pulled the snake out I nothing would drain at all!! This is pissing me off horribly, any ideas?

I've never had to snake a tub
But maybe try and run it down the Overflow
Might be a straighter run

I'm not a Plumber though

Thats a good idea. Currently I am filling the tub up to the brim and plunging the fuck out of it. It will let me plunge whatever is currently in the drain but the second it refills it just stops. This is fucking bizarre, I am going to have a fucking heart attack.

I snaked it again and ruined the fucking snake. I got pissed and twisted the fuck out of the snake and the coil bent. However, after that I filled the tub up with water above the overflow and plunged like a motherfucker and it started draining. Dont really care about the snake, it was the landlords and I have saved her a bunch of cash using it and not paying for plumbers. Thanks for the help though Maz, could have saved the snake by going down the overflow in the first place.

Someone once recommended using a Wet-Vac on a bathroom sink drain that was clogged
They neglected to mention plugging the Overflow holes up though

Once I figured that out
It worked like a charm

I like this method as well. Make sure the shopvac is not on blow or you may be cleaning up water in other bathrooms.

I have to do that to the warshing machine sometimes after we wash horse blankets... as the hair tends to clog the impeller.

Wait. You're a renter? You have the right to hire a plumber and take the bill off your next month's rent. Stop dilly dallying. Sheesh.

I hadn't showered all weekend and I had to work this today, I need that shit fixed quick. Plus I get points with the landlord fixing this shit myself.

I wouldn't... fixed a lot of shit at the past place we rented... plumbing, patched holes, fixed bulkhead doors, repainted iron railing etc.... she said she was going to reimburse us for time and labour but that never materialized. Oh she also tried to sue us for damages...

Our effluent pump crapped out last night (it pumps fluid up to our leach field)... drove to Home Depot at 8 and fucked around with it until 11. Nothing better then dealing with raw sewage at night whilst being attacked by mosquitoes.

Be careful with that sulfuric acid. If you get any on your skin neutralize it with soap/baking soda BEFORE you add water. It's the only acid that the first treatment for exposure ISN'T water....If you go straight to water it will get in your skin and really burn the shit out of you. Wear gloves and eye protection and be very careful if you snake after the acid that residue doesn't get on the snake.

A definitely do not pour it down your toilet... as you will erode the trap with it.

They have sulfuric acid at Wal Mart? I'm only asking because my wife has dishonored me...

I see I'm not the only one to rush to the end and ask this before reading. :haha7:
