So apparently Opie has been fired from SiriusXM...

The articles about the firing make it sound really pathetic. "He filmed a coworker in the restroom." It makes him sound like scat-obsessed sex freak.
To be fair, Opie has posted multiple pictures he's taken of men in the bathroom as his "defense." It seems like he got a laugh with it once and ran the joke into the ground without a clue, which is totally out of character for him.

I guess people are getting blocked by the SiriusXM twitter accounts if they ask why Opie got fired. There is still no official reason for his firing.

What about what he or his agent were told when they were informed he was let go? This is fake news. He was told exactly why, he's just butt hurt that the world moved on without him without skipping a beat.

Fucking ridiculous. Opie knows fucking perfectly well why he was shitcanned.

He got fired because Sirius was looking for a reason to fire him, and dummy handed it to them in the form of a Perv-O-Cam vid of a fat man taking a shit.

Who are the handful of retards that are baffled and upset by the big mystery of it all, and need closure like a high school drama princess who got jilted at the prom?

Actually he might not. Seeing another point of view has never been his strong suit.
I'm sure they told him. They had already told him that Roland went to HR over it and he spent way too much time shitting on one of his producers on the air for siding with Roland. He might think it's a bullshit reason because he's never wrong, but he was definitely told why.

Talk softly and drive a big tank!
Pretty sure from a legal stand point they have to give him a reason for termination, cause, like, so they can argue over wages n shit

Opie's point was that it's supposed to be over the video, but HR and management never saw the video, so basically they fired him over hearsay with no actual proof of wrongdoing.

Then he shouldn't have admitted to filming the video on the air when he threw his little bitch fit at the producer who sided with Roland. If they didn't have enough proof to fire him before, he handed it to them on a silver platter - but he still thinks it's someone else's fault because he's a narcissistic basket case who thinks the world is conspiring against him.

It's clear that they were just looking for a reason to fire him, and if he sues for wrongful termination or breach of contract or whatever... and he probably will, being a petulant manchild and all... if he does sue, Sirius can just bring up all of his ridiculous shockjockery antics and say "We're just sick and tired of dealing with this." and you couldn't find a judge or a jury in the world who wouldn't agree.

I wonder if Anthony got a nice payout and Opie was trying to get the same thing. He was obviously trying to get fired.

If that's the case, it will be hilarious if he gets nothing.

Like a consistent idiot, he wanted and took a one year deal that ends in October. He'll probably get 3 months pay at best.

Then Opie counters with "shockjockery is exactly what I was hired for in the first place".

You probably could, actually.

"You signed a guy who told a couple to fuck in a church to not one. Not two. Not three. Not four. Not five. Not six - but SEVEN different contracts and suddenly you're sick and tired of him?"

I suppose if he blocked the judge on Twitter or something...

His contract was up in October, right? He probably got paid for the remaining 3-4 months of his contract, just like Anthony was.

Is Opie seriously claiming that Ant was only allowed back because a fraction if Opie's listeners cancelled? His audience was already a fraction of the audience he had with Jim, which was a fraction of the audience they had for O&A. So a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction caused panic at the executive level? Just when you think he can't get any more delusional, he steps up his game to a whole new level.

"Panic" is questionable. Offering canceling customers six months for $20 definitely shows concern. If the numbers of cancelations weren't concerning, they'd just tell everyone "OK" when they called.

Um, what? It's basically industry standard for any monthly service to offer deals to people who threaten to cancel. I'm still paying the introductory rate for Comcast internet three years later. And Sirius offered me 6 month deals when I cancelled and that was 5-6 years ago.
