Was it just for the money? Because the FM portion of the show is awful. At least the last couple months. It's fucking stifled, it's boring, it's restrained.

On top of that, just like Howard was doing, they don nothing but fucking bitch about the constraints of FCC controlled FM radio. Remember how great it was when they started off on XM? Fuckin A, it was so unstructured and improvisational. It was awesome, there were no rules, they did whatever they wanted. They made sure to always comment "Look how nice it is to be able to just talk about whatever we want". WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU GO BACK TO FM FOR THEN??

I cant stand listening to them bitch about it. They knew what they were getting into, they knew it was even worse than it was when they left but they still did it. Im sure the payday was phenomenal, and I cant blame them one bit but it sucks for the fans. The FM callers are fuckin retards and contribute nothing and this stupid thousand dollar giveaway is annoying and reeks of desperation.

Every day I cant wait to hear the XM side because it sounds like a completely different show, its a million times better. I want my XM show back! FUCK!

GET OFF REGULAR RADIO!

Because they had no idea how bad it was going to get.

Don't even try and compare the current situation to what Hoo Hoo was dealing with years ago... before the word "fart" and "nipple" were verboten.

Fart and nipple ferchrissakes.

Did anybody see THAT coming? How can you NOT bitch about a situation as fucked as this? They're about an inch away from dropping the F-bomb on FX's- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, yet, at the same time you can't say words on the radio that four-year-olds use on the playground every fricken day.

It's very simple. For a radio personality the desire is to reach the
largest audience possible. On XM they won't be heard by near as
many people as they can be on reg radio.

As for them knowing what they were getting into, not true IMO.
CBS has just fucked them over with corporate restraints that I doubt
they knew about. Opie always said they knew how to do an FCC
compliant show and they do. It's the company that has slammed
them with unnecessary restrictions that have nothing to do with
FCC regulations. They are just pussies giving into the PC mentality
that has pervaded our country and the industry.

its amusing how we are coming off a few weeks, where even the negative nancies on this board said how great entire weeks have been recently. but one issue pops up, and here comes the "fm ruined the show" bullshit.

FX is a Cable Station, therefore not subject to FCC rules. The only reason that all cable stations don't allow cursing, is because it's harder to get advertisers to support it.

Ok, so now they know, and the show is suffering because of it. I'll go with that argument: they didnt know how bad it was.

Why dont they bail and go back to XM then when their contract is up? Why put up with all the bullshit. Im not trying to be just a jackass to stir up shit, Im a passionate fan of the show and I wanna see it back to its former glory is all. I hate hearing them operate with their balls cut off.

I for one have no idea what they plan to do when their contract with CBS is up.
Maybe they will go back to XM only. Maybe they won't. That's something that only
time will tell. For now they have a contract that they have to honor so the show goes on.

I hope they consider that when the contract is up. XM should fucking pony up and pay them whatever they have to to have the boys exclusively again.

Fuck FM radio, it's practically a dead medium for talk radio. The boys are too entertaining for that shit.

Yeah, lock it up for sure. It's nothing substantive.
At least your self-evaluation is spot on.

Seriously, read the posts...don't just keep defensively posting because you need to get in the last word. Read ballsbuster's post...that's the reason.

No matter what your next brilliant post will be, the answer will be in that post.

I didnt do that at all, I did respond constructively esp because Ballbuster didnt just jump in and go "stop bitching faget." He actually said what he thought and can probably appreciate mine and a lot of others' frustration with the FM bullshit and was objective with his response.

But thanks for the advice on "how to respond to posts", dad.

Roman's right - this and your later post prove why you're the special mod.

Now lock this sucker up before it morphs further into "a bash the show and let's speculate thread" :action-sm

So on this fan message board, even if you're a huge fan of the show but have a criticism of something going on, ANY thing you say that's not in praise of O and A is "Bashing the show". Thats how that works, I guess.

And anything you dont agree with should just be locked up? Thats pretty hypocrital considering how honest the Opie and Anthony show is and how they'll talk about anything, even if it's critical of them. YOu dont see them just hanging up on any caller that has a problem with the show.

(whisper) pssst, I agree with everything you said. (whisper)
But hey, remember, this is a fan board.

I thought Wackbag did away with the "in before the lock" shit long ago.
