Anyone have one of these?

They were demoing it at Costco last month and giving out samples. It drank pretty good.

I'm thinking about getting one. It turns out you can buy a fitting online that will let you take the CO2 cylinder anywhere and get it refilled instead of having to go through Sodastream.

I have one had it for about 6 months and my brother has one from when it was called Soda Club.

The one I have uses glass bottles and you can put them in the dishwasher.
here is a picture http://twitpic.com/5a4z8k http://twitpic.com/58c6ti http://twitpic.com/58c8fx

The local Elder Beerman (Bon-Ton) exchanges the tanks for $14.99 and I've always got an additional 10% off their home store from their rewards club - so its $13.50 + sales tax

I order the flavors from Elder Beerman online. Orders over $100 and there is no shipping charge, the flavors I get are all $4.99 plus the 10% discount so their $4.40 each, they have some more expensive syrups but I've never tried any of them

The diet grapefruit is really good, the diet root beer really sucks, the rest are pretty much the same thing as the generic Wal-Mart and Kroger brands of soda.

Kohls, JC Penny etc... also sell them but they may not exchange the tanks

I've thought about getting a large tank of CO2 and a fitting, just have been lazy about doing it - my brother has a giant tank in his garage - a lot bigger than I would want in the house.

I don't think you save any money over buying generic brands of soda, but it will long term be cheaper than buying Coke & Sprite.

Oh these are made in Israel and there is a organized boycott by a bunch of Obama cock sucking, "progressive," lefty types, because the Jews are "illegally" occupying the homeland of the peace loving people of Palestine.

Good. Even more reason for me to buy one.

Apparently Costco is going to start selling the syrups. That's what they told us when they were showing the machine.

My wife bought me one for christmas, it's not bad. I only drink diet soda and I have tried the diet orange and their version of coke zero. Not bad, tastes like generic soda. I used some fruit juice (Sodastream says only use water) and carbonated it. It was a bit messy but pretty damned good. Its also good if you like "sparkling" water. Overall, it's a novelty thing.

Used to have a carbonation machine back in the early 90s, pretty much the same as these things.

We never messed with any syrups, just Kool Aid. Various stores in the hood would also have the elusive root beer and cola flavored powdered drink Kool Aid knock offs. Good shit. I wish knew what happened to that thing.

Making homemade soda and carbonated water is so simple - turn tap water into sparkling water in 3 seconds! Enjoy the convenience of homemade soda and protect the environment

A friend got one (different brand I think) for Christmas to use primarily for carbonated water. I tried their not-Dr. Pepper mix which was fucking horrible.

Also, their bottles are not dishwasher safe, so I would confirm that before buying.

This seems to be making a comeback for some reason, but the exact same product (same brand even) has been around for over 30 years.

Whenever I see someone demoing this stupid shit I say soda is bad for you and then I chug a Pepsi.
This thing was all over the pallisades mall over Christmas.

sent from my phone so deal with the terrible grammar and misspellings

Somewhat related - did you see the commercials about a year ago for the Holy Cross Pendant that had the Lord's prayer etched in glass in the center? They were advertising it as a BRAND NEW OMG PRODUCT!!!1!

I saw an ad in a Tales from the Crypt comic (original, from the 50s) where you could mail away for the EXACT same thing. Kind of made me wonder what else has been repackaged and sold on TV these days.

Yeah if I don't like it you can have it. I gotta experiment with it first though. I wonder what carbonated milk taste like...

It's seems like some novelty gift for middle class people. Kinda like those little hot dog rollers that seem neat until you realize that waiting half an hour for your hot dog to cook is fucking stupid.

I think Samsung actually makes a refrigerator with a soda stream built into the door.
That's a little ridiculous. The soda stream is nothing more then a really expensive release valve for a little bottle of CO2. You screw in a bottle of water, pull a lever that releases the CO2 into it, remove it, and then pour in a cap full of soda syrup and shake it up a bit.
