There's been rumors circulating about Sony working on a USB tuner for the PS3 in the PAL countries. There's supposed to be an expo later this month where the announcement will be made. Odds are if they do this abroad they'll probably do something with it here.

Would be nice to have. The HTPC crowd would have a cheap fairly solid system for under 1k.

That would be nice and would possibly entice me into buying a PS3. But why would Sony have to go out and design one when they could buy rights to remarket the EyeTV or a Hauppauge usb tuner? I hope they don't try to charge 200 bucks for it either but they probably will.

Kotaku is pushing the rumor that it may be Tivo software used for it.

Whatever it is I hope it saves in AVC. It'd be a real bitch if they kept it MPEG-2
