So you're telling me "who" was the name of the guy on first base?
So I went to pre order this and discovered it has again been delayed to an, as of now, indefinite date. Fuck, was looking forward to this in a couple of weeks.
Here's and idea, how about not announcing a game until you're sure you can hit a release date.
Doesn't usually work that way. They generally don't go gold until just a couple weeks before release. Unless you have a huge name (GTA, Fallout) you need the lead up time for hype and release dates are always a best guess.
Granted, they could do a better job.
Frankly, I think this delay was just to get it out of the Spring window.
Or you can do what they did with Fallout 4 and not annouce it until a few months before release.
Like I said, only someone like Bethesda or Rockstar can get away with that without a huge loss of sales.
With a name like South Park behind it it should be possible. They have the money to cover it.
Fallout 4 has a preexisting base for anticipation/hype/expectation of releases. South Park is a big name in animation not games, they are the filler games until the big names hit and they cannot risk losing any potential customers due to trying that
Red dead is out in the fall and fuck knows what else, moving it closer to then is somewhat silly at its sales will get murdered so, summer release?
I'd bet summer or August. Game windows have been reduced to 1-2 weeks at this point.
Though the announcement of ME: Shadow of War on Aug 8 throws a monkey wrench into everything. So maybe a mid-July release.
Hopefully it will just ship when it's complete and good.
Like I said, it may be done or close to done already. Getting it out of the way of Horizon, Mass Effect and Switch/Zelda is a good idea.
It also may not be due to Parker and Stone loving to change things a lot.
I'm a big fan of delays in video games. It means they care enough to not ship out crap and actually want to fine tune it as much as possible.
I want CupHead!
You damn kids and your sexualizations.
I'm very excited for the next release date they are going to miss.
I'm very excited I don't have to fuck with a piece of shit game that is released before it is completely ready.
It must have been pretty fucked up then if it's eventual release was pushed out over a year from when it was first expected.
Or could it be that Matt and Trey are just being perfectionists and keep making changes.
If you're saying yes to the latter, I guess maybe the fact that a South Park episode can be created from essentially scratch in six days has spoiled them and they don't realize as such that creating a video game can't be done that way. And that even a minor change takes weeks to develop.
Pretty much this. They talked about it in some interview about the first game.
So as long as they keep dumping out MCU and DCCU movies, they're always going to be trying to catch up. We may never see this game released.
