Tap and hold the image. Your treo will prompt you to save the file.

Awesome thanks. I busted the screen on my 700 this past weekend and went to sprint last night and got a 755 for free cause of the $7 insurance I pay every month. A good deal I may say. Plus I think the Sprint store wanted my sack in her mouth so I walked out with a smile.

Get a free program called mini tones for the treo, if you haven't downloaded it yet. It allows you to put mp3s on a mini SD card and use them as ringtones. It recognizes all the songs on the card and asks if you'd like to save them to the phone. It will even let you crop the song length and file size.

I have ringo which does the same thing I think. I lost my card in a bar a while back so I need to get another one. Any other cool programs I can get?

I don't put a lot of extras on my work treo (755p) because if there are any computer related problems anywhere in our company they say it's probably because I added something to my phone. I have a 700p for my personal phone, but haven't had it long enough to really do too much.

Quick News is a good RSS reader, Kinoma is the best audio/video app available.

i am curious how you "really" jewed the Sprint store out of a free replacement? Normally, you have to call the insurance company who will then charge you $50 and then send a replacement.... but nice job getting a great replacement for the POS 700...

Actually twice I have banged up my my phone and went in the store and got a free phone like that. I'm guessing its because of the insurance I pay every month.

Maroon Treo 755p, here.

My top 2 programs are MobiPocket, a book reading program that also has a fairly large library of free/cheap books for download (also the scifi publisher Baen books has their entire inventory on eBook format, baen.com), and Ultrasoft's Money program that synch's with my Microsoft Money program on my laptop and keeps my checkbook/bank registry up to date. I know exactly how much (or little) money I have at any given point.

Treos make the iPhone look like the pretty boy loser it is. Except for some of the "pretty" interface things the iPhone does, there isn't ANYTHING the iPhone can do that the Treo can't do. And in most cases, do better. Meanwhile, the Treo's only real limit is what the hardware itself can do: Palm gives away the development software so you can write your own programs for the Treo.

Pro-Treo rant over.

is this (including the microsoft thing) free? I have recently been trying to find some sort of free ap like excel, so I can keep track of my account balance. Any suggestions? Is what you have the free way to go for what I want?

Unfortunately, it's not free. Actually, it's about the most expensive software out there for the Treo/Palm.

It's $40 for the Ultrasoft software (http://www.ultrasoft.com/), and I don't know how much the Microsoft Money program is (probably around $50). If it's too much, it's too much, but it saved my ass in college a lot when the old bank account came pretty close to zero and I avoided paying insufficient funds penalties.

Plus, just HAVING it in hand all the time means you're more likely to keep your checkbook balanced and things straight. It gives you a lot more control when you see just how much you spend every month on strippers and coke, you know?

The Ultrasoft stuff is great. You can decide just how much of your account activity you want on the Treo/Palm (I just keep the last month's or so, but you can have pretty much your entire account history on there) and you can password protect it separately from the rest of the Treo's security set-up so nosy people can't check on your bank account balance.

If it makes sense for you, it's great. If it doesn't make sense for you, there might be Excel spreadsheets that'll work for you.

True Dat. Had a Treo for nearly 2 years, but I finally went the way of Windows Mobile 6 to start the new year, and I LOOOOOVE it. I miss the tweakability of the Palm OS, but I'm sure I'll have fun with the new OS.
