I'm in. One of my favorites.
In other words, them Jewy Jew Jews fucked them out of their hard earned money.
Oh man, I got mixed feelings on this one. Super Troopers is one of my favorite comedies. Hope they can pull it off.
I , Just like many others hated Club Dread, but enjoy Beer Fest.
You ever see Puddle Jumpers? That was pretty good too. (It was before Super Troopers)
I love Club Dread.
Paul Soter spoke about this on Jay Mohrs podcast (Mohr Stories ep 45) says the studio fucked them over and they had been wanting to do this before any of the other films they put out.
I might have to bust out the first one tonight. Haven't watched it in years.
Link to Indiegogo kickstarter.
I didn't like Super Troopers, but it brings me joy that this has raised $1,319,769 more than @Joe Pietaro 's indiegogo campaign.
Also, it's really pathetic that Super Troopers needs a kickstarter to fund a sequel. They made a sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine.
jesus I saw the original announcement and saw when they had raised 400 bucks...get back from work and see it's up to 1.6 million...mother of god...they're gonna keep adding perks for the next 30 days so I can see them hitting 10 mill easily and possibly a lot more...crazy support
I'll go a step further... I fucking hated Super Troopers. I didn't find it funny in the least. In fact, it angered me while watching it. I honestly didn't understand why the audience would laugh at it. In fact, Broken Lizard as a whole bothers me. It shouldn't, but it does for some unknown reason.
I know I'm in the minority, but God damn, they're not really that funny. Maybe I saw it in a bad mood?
I'm going to sound like an old man here, but when I saw it there was some dumb college kid sitting in front of us ironically "over laughing" at every moment of the movie. We ended up walking out. There may have been some funny parts, but the experience was so bad I've never had the desire to go back and watch it, as it will now always remind me of my very first "These damn kids today" moment.
My theory is that it's a stoner movie, and apparently weed makes it funnier?
I don't know.
It's not that I hate stoner comedies in general... I enjoyed Pineapple Express, for example.
I don't begrudge people who like it, I just don't get it.
Super Troopers wasn't funny? I just don't get this site sometimes. Sure their other movies were pretty shitty though I kind of liked Beerfest.
I didn't say it wasn't funny for its audience (It is the definition of cult), I just didn't find it funny.
Humor is humor, some people get it, some don't. I am just in the dark about why that particular film has such a cult following.
I think we're both acknowledging that we're in the minority. And like I said, I only saw the first half and didn't hear half of what was going on because of some shithead.
I put Super Troopers in the same vein as Tim & Eric. I don't get those guys either. Maybe I'm living a sheltered life.... Maybe I need my humor environment expanded.
Loved Super Troopers. Sure it's silly, but it was one of few movies I can remember actually making me laugh out loud.
I'm sure the second will be a terrible pile of shit, but I'll still see it.
Love ST. The only other BL movie I really liked was Puddle Jumpers.
I have showed ST to other people who didn't find it funny. I was like "Why are you not laughing at that!!!!!!??????"
On the flip side, I'm on an island that didn't find Dumb and Dumber or Something About Mary funny in the slightest. Much like Bill, these movies angered me I found them so terrible.
I have also heard of people that didn't find Office Space funny, I get that there varying degrees of humor, but come on.
And yes, weed and the right mood can make PBS funny.
I could not agree more.
In reality, there are some weird moments in Office Space that aren't that funny, but they aren't as many as Super Troopers. For Office Space, the movie is funnier if you've ever been in an office setting. If you've never been in that environment, I can see why you'd be like "What the fuck?"
