Inb4 a drunk Texan comes in and confirms the findings...:icon_cool
See the Atheist thread. Bible belt. Yeah...
To be fair, Hollywood and cartoons have unintentionally done as much to push the dinosaur/human cohabitation theory as fundamentalist Christianity has.
He sees pink elephants, not dinosaurs.
Damn tag took me to this thread
I hadn't realized The Flintstones tried to pass themselves off as a factual program.
Aren't birds suppose to be dinosaurs? And sharks were around during the time of dinosaurs Its not a crazy theory.
Birds are descendants of smaller dinosaurs. I dont remember all the details but I bet wikipedia has all the info you need. Sharks may have been around as well but all in all humans (homo sapiens) did not exist at the same time dinosaurs did.
The Flintstones. You can't explain that!
Damn it Atlanta, you just took our fun away.
Minotaurs, how do they work?
Yes, thanks to to evolutionary science, we know that birds are the descendants of bipedal dinosaurs (like the T-Rex), and sharks are a kind of fish that have been around for 400 million years.
According to the same science, thanks to the same methods used to establish those two facts, we also know that humans have only evolved recently, long after the extinction of dinosaurs.
What's your point?
I wonder how many Texans believe Batman is real. However many it is (probably between zero and one), that's also the number that believes the cohabitation theory thanks to Hollywood pushing it in fiction.
All the rest believe it because the Christians are peddling it as a serious claim about reality.
I'd like to see the breakdown by race.
Christians peddle nothing. It's all the atheists' fault.
Christian lies are actually atheist lies about Christians.
This is Texas we're talking about. If they saw it on the teevee, it must be real.
You live in Long Island... Suck a dick.
"The Flintstones was a documentary."
In retrospect, I should've added a sarcastic "I'm just sayin'" to the end of my post.
texas executes a lot more mentally retarded people than i had thought
Not enough, apparently.
It's nothing but crazy, and the people who tout that crap do it to display their religious conviction... not because they've actually looked at the facts and made up their minds based upon logic and reason.
The Bible thumpers are like... "Look at me! I love Jesus so much that I'm will to swallow an entire ocean of creationism bullshit to show how much more I value my belief in Jesus over my reputation as a sane and rational human being! I'm willing to sacrifice for my beliefs!
It's a badge of devotion for them. A badge that reads... I'm Cuckoo for Jesus Puffs! A badge your boy Ron Paul wears proudly.
No new news here.
I don't know how an adult, likely educated to read and write and understand astonishing things in an era that is a technological marvel compared to the previous 100 thousand plus years of hominid existence, can think humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time. Just the basic sort of mammals were living with dinosaurs, not humans.
I can understand people who might have a religious reason for arguing for it, like a Young Earth creationist sort, but how do these questions get so many people saying "I Don't Know/No Idea."
People have lives, wanna get off the phone? Only answer the phone to a pollster when wasted, and incapable of understanding the question?
These were actually pretty entertaining books to read with my kid...
