Julian Castro in the mix now

What the hell is the number for the Dems now? I thought the 17 repubs in 2016 was crazy, there has to be more than that for the Dems.

Start a pool, who will be next?

I’m sure the MSM is going to racistly assume since Castro is Hispanic that ALL Hispanics will vote for him based on their inability to see anything other than race or sex

By the tone and frequency of huffpo headlines and articles, they're anti-Klobuchar, and pro-Bernie.

huffpo: always good for lulz. Never disappoints.

if they have their finger on the pulse of the progressive soul, then 2020 is going to be a fun ride

Bernie would be the oldest POTUS elected by almost 10 years. Like....turning 80 in his first year. If there's ever a definition of us electing an "old white guy" its him.

He would absolutely need the best and strongest running mate.

He's such a fraud. If he really and honestly thinks cradle to grave statist controlling governments are the way to go then he would've moved to Cuba or Venezuela or China years ago

It is great how the msm is now using the anonymous sources against the dem party now. When you have this kind of deranged thinking it is only a matter of time when you are in the barrel.

There is always some kind of magical reason as to why it failed in one place but will create paradise in another place. Thats also how you get Californians being forced out of California but then they turn their new states blue like Texas and Colorado. And there will be no cycle of California going back to red because they are just replacing the population with socialist voters from Central America.

And the so called success stories of socialism are never actually socialist like the Scandinavian countries. Sweeden did get something close to socialism in the 80s but it was a huge failure and they had to go back. Now they just have big welfare states, higher taxes, but they have market economies and privatized a lot of things like social security.

The lefts true examples of socialist/communist success stories are countries like the Soviet Union, North Korea, Venezuela.

I read an article a few weeks ago (may have been here) talking about how Sweden and other countries in that region are trending more toward fiscal conservatism than the US. Wish I could remember where and exactly when I read it.

Yeah, a bunch of them have either elected conservatives or the liberal party is weaker than a decade ago or so. Denmark isn't fucking around with immigration, either...

TIME didn't have time to criticise it like they would if it was Bad Orange Man.

Thing is too that places like Denmark & Sweden might be more able to run socialist health care systems that won't immediately turn into a fiscal train wreck because the population is much smaller than over here and probably less likely to get ripped off PLUS they don't have hordes of border jumpers clogging up the hospitals with a case of "El-gibs us dat-o" or fat sheboons on disability.
People don't take those important differences into account when bitching about "if they can do it why can't we?"

Harris: ‘Of Course We Can Afford’ Trillion Dollars of Spending in Green New Deal

Sunday on CNN’s “Inside Politics,” Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) argued the United States could afford the trillions of dollars the Green New Deal could cost taxpayers.
CNN’s John King asked, “If you talk to Democratic voters, they’re hungry, and they want ideas. So you’ll hear things like the Green New Deal. You’ll hear things like Medicare for all. You hear things whether it’s taxed at what point do you say that’s our north star, but we have to be realists?”
Harris said, “There’s no question we have to be practical. But being practical also recognizes that climate change is an existential threat to us as human beings. Being practical recognizes that greenhouse gas emissions are threatening our air and threatening the planet and that it is well within our capacity as human beings to change our behaviors in a way that we can reduce its effects. That’s practical.”
King asked, “Can we afford it?”
Harris said, “Of course we can afford it,”
King said, “Two-and-a-half trillion dollars, $3 trillion for Medicare for all by some studies. Depending on which portions of the Green New Deal you choose to do first, that’s money. You know what Republicans are going to say, ‘tax and spend liberals, pie in the sky.'”
Harris said, “It’s not about a cost. It’s about an investment. And the question should be, is it worth the cost in terms of the investment potential? Are we going to get back more than we put in?”

Why would they fuck around? There has been enough proof of how these immigrants are destroying their society. I have watched a few documentaries and in some areas women can not walk down the street. The schools are being taken over. It is a classic case of we left a hell hole to build that hell hole here. They never learn and there are people that will let them never learn

Spectator USA: Bernie Sanders is the machine now

highlights:

Listen carefully to this Clintonite griping, however, and you hear panic. The Democratic party establishment is terrified of Bernie, a true radical who threatens its leadership, and it has no idea how to stop him.
Sanders, now 77, may be grumpier but he has a vast movement behind him and his social media power has grown. He declared his candidacy on February 19, and has already recruited one million volunteers. His rivals would kill for a slice of that enthusiasm.

Trump won the presidency with mass working-class support: Bernie’s fan base is arguably deeper and broader, and he has the President in his sights. He’s already talking about winning in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Florida — states that swung towards Trump last time.
We hear the usual pundit bleating: Bernie is an old white man; the Democrats need diversity. Yet Sanders appeals precisely because he isn’t an identity politics candidate: he’s a social democrat who has spent his life raging against Wall Street greed, the military industrial complex and social injustice. He says all the correct things about gays, lesbians and transgenders, of course, but Bernie in PC mode sounds unnatural, like a vicar talking about grime music. That awkwardness is endearing. It makes millennials swoon: they find him cute and retro.
. . . . affluent, PC-mad America could prevent him getting the Democratic nomination first, as it did in 2016. Silicon Valley, for instance, is more likely to support a colorful candidate who toes the party line, such as Kamala Harris, the senator from California. That said, Sanders can now outspend Harris, thanks to his enormous small-donation network. Harris raised $1.5 million in the first 24 hours of her campaign; Bernie got $4 million, and already has $11.5 million in his war chest from last time. He’s the machine now.
