Former government agent Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) has eluded capture for decades. But he suddenly surrenders to the FBI with an offer to help catch a terrorist under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone), a young FBI profiler who's just barely out of Quantico.

I watched the pilot episode the last night and thought it was pretty good. It had an interesting premise and I like James Spader. I'll watch a few more to see if I am still interested.

Has anyone else watched?

It was ok. It's one of the better recent network dramas so far.

So I just watched the most recent episode of this show... Dice played a crooked plastic surgeon who helps make people disappear by changing their faces. Dice as a doctor? Really?!? :p Needless to say, not terribly believable.

I like this show a lot, but episode five fuck you with the opening dream sequence. Seriously. Fucking stop it. Nobody doesn't see them coming. Retards see them coming. Blind people see them coming. It would be nice if a procedural actually had the balls to reveal something five episodes in, but we all know they don't. Wanna surprise me? Write your dream sequence, then man the fuck up and don't have it be a dream. Write yourself into a corner, then be creative and write yourself out of it. Ugh.

Last time I called my mom she said she was watching this show and it was "better than the break bad".

We no longer speak to each other.

I'm in. Gonna stick with it.

It's all Spader though. No Spader, and I'd be gone in the blink of an eye.

Agreed. He completely disappeared from my radar for like two decades. Last I knew of him, he was the pretty boy in those 80s movies. Now he's back, fat and bald, and literally the only reason the show rises above a run-of-the-mill procedural.

He's not as fat anymore ...not since being cast as Ultron.

He played Robert California in like the last two seasons of The Office... he was hilarious.

The thing with Blacklist... every other character is just like basic, network rote... too-pretty women(and men)... completely humdrum "network safe". Everything else is basic network hack that wouldn't have held my attention for so much as a single episode.

Spader 100% carries that show as far as I'm concerned... at least for me he does. If they replaced Spader with some boring ass central casting pretty boy next season... Blacklist would be deleted off my DVR list toot suite.

I agree without Spader this show would have been cancelled. The acting of the two fbi people(no idea of names but it is the female and male) are average at best. The people on the blacklist do a very good job and so does Spader employees. Spader is just fantastic.

Great episode. How creepy was that room full of SPOILERS? I do like how quickly they're moving things along for a standard network show. That's part of why I like Person of Interest so much, too. It's not 22 episodes of a story that goes nowhere followed by a bang-up two-part season finale. Shit actually happens...a lot of it.

I have to say the show got better as the season went along. Spader still carries the show but at least the fbi agents have gotten better. I liked the lead up with Berlin to the final and the season finale was pretty good. It has been renewed for a second season so we will find out if it has any staying power.

The story lines and roles of the list are done very well and Berlin is not going to be any different.

Good start to season 2, this show is filled with people from Showtime shows and just about every other series I watch.

Just got done watching the 1st season on Netflix and I'm hooked! Like what Spader has done for many years.
