Finally we have a Main Event

UFC president Dana White announced late Friday night that Overeem has been pulled from the main event of UFC 146, and Frank Mir (16-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) will now face Junior Dos Santos (14-1 MMA, 8-0 UFC) for the UFC heavyweight title.

Eh, I wanted to see Overeem, but if they have to get a replacement, I'm glad it's Mir. Hope he pulls it off.

Can't say I am a fan of Mir, but the UFC got it right here. He was the correct person to put in the spot.

I expect we see Roidereem take the slot against Cain if he somehow gets licensed.

Otherwise, I don't know what they are gonna do.

Yeah, not the best fight but it's better than Mark Hunt getting the nod. Mir is the best fit.

Wow, odds on JDS opened at -500.

Velasquez vs Bigfoot Silva

With Frank Mir pulled from a planned UFC 146 bout with Cain Velasquez (9-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in favor of a main-event contest with UFC heavyweight champ Junior Dos Santos, Antonio Silva (16-3 MMA, 0-0 UFC) has now also drawn a new opponent.

Originally expected to face Roy Nelson at the event, "Bigfoot" Silva now takes Mir's original slot against Velasquez.

Nelson is expected to remain on the card, but UFC execs have yet to reveal his new opponent.

They could put Travis Browne or Ben Rothwell in with Nelson, neither took real damage in their fight.

Its Gonzaga vs Nelson now.

Shane Del Rosario is without an opponent for now.

I'll always cheer for Roy. He could really use a win.
