A Tribune analysis of five years of booking data at Cook County Jail found that at least 1 in 10 of those who were arrested and bonded out on gun charges committed serious crimes within a year — then bonded out of jail yet again. The vast majority of suspects were arrested on new gun charges.
The analysis also found that gang members facing felony gun charges often had little problem coming up with the cash to get out of jail, while nonviolent thieves and others languished behind bars, unable to post much lower bonds.
And prosecutors rarely ask where the money came from. By contrast, in major drug cases, they routinely request hearings to determine the source of bail money.

A Tribune review of 50 gun cases from 2012 through 2016 with the highest bond amounts uncovered four instances in which tens of thousands of dollars were posted by people who had recently filed for bankruptcy, and one instance in which a relative said $20,000 in bond money came from recent casino winnings.

And that is exactly what I was trying to convey to my lefty friend. Shit bags like Emmanuel turn their backs on the real crime, don’t prosecute the gun crimes then turn around and blame the guns. It’s not the guns it’s the savages that get busted with the guns then get turned right back onto the street, I would bet dollars to doughnuts that if someone like me, was traveling through Chicago and got busted with a gun, they would lock me up and throw away the key

I won a cool $50 in the murder pool this week. No one thought 12 would happen based on previous weeks of not even double digits. Going for 11 next week, and hovering around a dozen a week until the end of summer.

Cmon you darkie heathens. Make your biggest fan some bank.

No Arrests Made in Chicago Weekend Shootings of 74 People, Police Say

No arrests have been made in any of the shootings that took place over the violent Chicago weekend that saw at least 74 people shot across the city, according to police.

"We have really good leads on quite a few of them but we haven’t made any physical arrests yet," Chicago police Supt. Eddie Johnson said at a news conference addressing the violence on Monday.

Johnson said 46 people were arrested on weapons charges and 60 guns were seized in Chicago over the weekend, though those arrests were not connected to any of the shootings that took place, leaving 12 people dead and at least 62 others wounded between 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Monday.

Six of those shootings wounded at least four people at a time in a spike in violence over seven hours on Sunday morning, according to police, who issued a call to community members to come forward with information about the incidents and possible suspects.

"Don’t think for a moment people don’t know who in the neighborhood was responsible," Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said Monday. "Who actually did this. If you say to yourself 'Enough is enough,' will that implore you to do something so that this doesn’t happen again?"

Johnson echoed that call, reiterating that officers rely on information from the community in order to solve cases.

"CPD can do better but at the end of the day, the members of CPD don’t go to bed with these individuals at night. They don't wake up with them in the morning. It's very rare we actually witness this stuff," he added. "Somebody knows who did it. They do, they know that. They hold me accountable. They hold the mayor accountable. They hold the city council accountable."

"You know what I never hear?" Johnson continued. "I hear people holding us accountable all the time. I never hear people out in the city saying 'These individuals out here in the streets need to stop pulling the trigger.' I never hear that. They get a pass from everybody and they shouldn't. You should be able to gather on your block and have a block club party without the fear of being gunned down - and it's the same individuals that continuously commit these crimes. Where’s the accountability for that?"

Chicago police deployed hundreds of additional officers to neighborhoods most impacted by the weekend's gun violence, and implored anyone with information to contact investigators.

I was listening to a podcast about the Atlanta child murders, and it made it pretty clear that Wayne Williams got away with killing kids for as long as he did because the blacks in Atlanta were obsessed with the idea that a white KKK member was the culprit.

Wayne Williams went around for YEARS posing as a talent scout who was forming a black boy band, and he was always giving "auditions", but no band was ever even close to being formed, and the kids he auditioned kept mysteriously disappearing. That's him front/middle with "Gemini", the band that never was.

Nobody ever offered him up to the cops as a suspect, because, of course, he wasn't a white KKK guy.

The police sketch of "the bushy-haired black man wearing glasses" done from witness testimony matched Wayne Williams so exactly that it was almost comical, but nobody from the black community ever came forward to put a name to the face, because it was all some "Po-lice booshit to pin it on a nigga."

Wayne Williams walked around killing black kids for years, while the black community in Atlanta searched high and low for the white KKK child murderer that was stalking the streets.
