That's not getting the lungs, just everything below the diaphragm, so you still have to finish the job.
Also, if the organs are punctured by pellets, you'll squeeze out the goop you don't want on the meat.
does rabbit fall into that "it's adorable and tastes AMAZING!" category that lamb does? i just think it's silly to kill and eat rabbit. you need maybe 4 of them to get full.
It gets the guts out so they don't rot, since they spoil quicker than the lungs. It also makes a vest load easier to pack. If you have pellet holes thru the guts, then you already have leakage. Get the guts out, the leaks stop.
My old rabbit dog loved it when I would tear a little hole and fish out a loop of intestine. He would take it and suck out the spaghetti then go looking for the next snack. Good times.
One rabbit has more than enough meat for an adult and yes, they taste awesome.
A Wackbag adult or a regular adult?
Rabbits are great eatin' (like Buster said)... but you have to be careful. Eating too much rabbit can lead to "rabbit starvation" if your diet isn't supplemented with anything else. The body is unable to process the excess lean meat, and you end up burning more calories through mostly uncomfortable ways than you gain by eating the food. Rabbits are easy to kill so many people depend too much on eating solely them for sustenance.
That doesn't kick in for a long time though and it's only when you aren't getting fat from another source.
Yeah, that's like a plane crash survivor in snowshoe hare country after many months. Although I did feel it start to kick in on a 3 day camping trip once, but luckily we stopped at Pizza Hut on the way home and everyone survived.
I've had rabbit that was really awesome and then I've had some that was freaking horrible...All I am gonna say...Curry Thumper...off my list of good eats..
