How soon til the rumors of Fabregas leaving Arsenal for Barca become true? Because we all know that Barcelona is no good and needs another star player.

I haven't heard of that competition before. Soccer players don't get much time off.

Another Copa America game goes to penalties. I don't like seeing all these games end in pk's.

Is there a Red Sox (pre04) type of club in soccer? I was thinking about Liverpool who haven't won since 90 but they won the Champions league 5 years ago so I don't think they count.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_League

The team you might be looking for would be the Blackburn Rovers I would imagine. They did win the title in '94-'95 and haven't won since. They are the only club to have won aside from Man.U., Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

You also might want to look at the nPower Champions league to find a team. That is the league that three Premier teams get relegated too at the end of the season. Also, three teams from the nPower league are promoted to the Premiership. Kind of a revolving door if you will. I'll probably start paying closer attention to the nPower games this year since I think FSC is going to be broadcasting more of them.

All this soccer talk has inspired me to start playing a little. There are pick up games at a nearby park that I might join if I can get my knee healthy. Any of you other fat Baggers still play?

Lots of great games on tv this weekend, enjoy!

I would absolutely love to play again but my stupid schedule won't allow it. I travel way too much and it sucks. In the meantime, I'll be watching the Chicago Fire get their assses handed to them by Man.U. today I'm sure. Then the Crew play Portland tonight I think.

On a side note, I was wondering if anyone here subscribes to FSC's online broadcast of games. I don't always get ESPN or FSC in the hotels I stay at and was wondering how FSC's online feed is. I usually watch games that ESPN3 doesn't show on Justintv and that can be a little iffy sometimes.

there's no real need to pay for fsc's stream because if you google "watch fox soccer channel" you can find a dozen streams of their feed.

Anyone see the Sporting Kansas City intros for Toronto FC?

Apparently they just threw up random Canadian things instead of the player photos during the introductions.
I love that they used Matt Stairs(MLB) twice, and ended with Mighty Ducks Emilio Estavez.

And the Hitman Brett Hart music, since he's Canadian.

If that is real, then it is fucking hilarious. I loved the Tim Hortons coffee and doughnut!

Well apparently it really did happen, the guy just pulled the video.

There's articles about it in the Wash Post and Deadspin. They all link the same video, and it's now pulled.
