Its November

Will Ryback be pushed down the card?
Will Survivor Series do well?
Will RAW ratings go above a 3 again?

According to reports, WWE made the same in the last quarter that they did in 2011 (TV revenue)
Even though they added programming (extra RAW & other shows) the ad revenue was down

That is the point I was making, if WWE doesn't deliver the expected ratings they make less money. With RAW going down so much due to the 3 hrs they owe they make less per commercial & sponsorship & thus offset the extra hour & now have a million less investing in their product & less potential merch, PPV & live event buyres.
It is Biz 101

ZIGGLER GOOD NEWS/BAD NEWS

GOOD: Ziggler is working with Cena at house shows in Europe so it looks like they will go at Survivor Series
BAD: What are the odds of Ziggler looking like anything but a huge jobber?

Found this interesting from Alvarez:

One WWE source close to creative was amazed that Vince made up his mind to have Ryback lose on October 26th and then didn't change his mind for three straight days. Once the decision was made to beat Ryback, they had several different ideas of how to do it, including the Maddox finish, and also finishes involving run-ins by Big Show, Brock Lesnar, Mark Henry, Vince himself, and others.
Man I think the Henry scenario was the best.

&

John Cena vs. Dolph Ziggler will take place at Survivor Series. I'm not sure what the original plan was, but between Tuesday's taping when Dolph guaranteed he'd cash in his briefcase at the PPV and the actual PPV on Sunday, they changed their minds on that idea. Since they pushed it so hard on TV they had to come up with some sort of explanation for him not doing what he'd promised, and that consisted of a video on WWE.com where he basically said he lied, and that anyone who believed him was a fool.

&

Ric Flair wasn't at Raw on Monday. The plan dating back months was to try to debut him at the show in Charlotte. The fact he wasn't there tells you all you need to know about the current state of the WWE vs. TNA lawsuit.

Not a huge Flair fan, but he might bring something to the show they've been missing.

I haven't given this little of a fuck about WWE in about 5,6 years. 3 hour RAW is the longest amount of time to the least amount of enjoyment in entertainment today.
This is getting to be hiatus-level bad. The last time I enjoyed WWE this little was about 8 months in a Cena or Triple H heavyweight reign.
Might have to cut 'em loose a bit after Road to WM.

The characters are boring and generic looking and acting. The storylines stink. The matches deliver from an in-ring standpoint but as far as more emotional investment and "mark out moment" potential for them is non-existent. Bryan and Kane just highlight how awful tag teaming has been for years. They are an odd man/comedy group and easily the best thing in tagging in a good 3 year's time. The Divas are as bad as they've been in the past decade. The undercard is terrible, the mid-card irrelevant and the main event nostalgic, money-grubbing nonsense.

I'd hit the reset button here. Vince McMahon gave a speech about the Attitude Era. Well, I think Triple H and Paul Heyman need to get the books and creative control from Vince and Steph and usher in a Quality over Quantity era. 3 programs, 2 hour RAW, Smackdown, 2 hour NXT. Scrap everything else. Scrap 6 to 8 garbage PPVs. Cut 25 people phoning it in and dragging ass and highlight 10 under-35 studs from developmental/NXT like Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Steamboat/Rollins as a tag team, etc. Just a full reboot and change in business.

I agree with most of what you wrote.
I would have to disagree about canceling The Main Event though, it is maybe their best TV
I would give Paul the book & HHH in charge of everything else (development, overall direction, responsibility, who gets signed/called up, etc.)

So WWE is finally promoting that Maddox will explain his actions this Monday. I hope it leads to Ryback showing a better range & more personality. The whole Punk angle seems flat if he is still only going to do power moves, nod his head & grunt "Feed Me More".
This is a chance to show he could go to the next level instead of being just a big guy
Maddox seems luike he might be good in his role, so I hope Ryback steps up but his "feed me Punk" grunt sucked & he looks like a one-trick wrestler

CagesideSeats.com had a good feature on Brad Maddox basically introducing him to anyone unfamiliar with him that you should definitely check out. (I would link it, but I'm on my notebook and Cageside's new web design crashed it so I'm afraid to try again on it.)

Brad Maddox (real name: Brent Wellington) is actually a wrestler who has been working in OVW and then-FCW for while (since '08) under the names Beef Wellington and his current name. He's a former OVW Heavyweight Champion and is supposed to be pretty good so we might see him in a wrestling capacity soon.

It's funny you mention that because that's exactly what he is.

When he first came around & did the ref angle, I posted info on him saying he would most likely wind up in angles due to his training

I hope for more but if that was all they gave him on RAW, then WWE obviously doesn't have faith in him that he can do more
Either that or Punk is playing political games again :action-sm

I knew Punk had become a politician when he got Colt Cabana rehired and when he successfully lobbied to beat the Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match. Oh wait...

And convincing the booking staff to suddenly kill the Straight Edge Society angle for no reason.
& to kill the angle of him leaving with the belt & becoming the most notorious wrestler ever in WWE
I mean it was very important for him to come back & get put in a feud with Nash without the belt & then job to HHH

And there was that time he argued to be eliminated from the Elimination Chamber match at ECW December to Dismember 2006 instead of winning it.

Yeah but that was before he had "pull" & did things like insert himself in a silly comedy angle based around AJ

Oh & poked around Cagesideseats & saw the tourney they are doing

pretty cool.
I don't think they should include RR though

Very telling that there are EIGHT HBK matches still in the running

WWE will never see another big match performer like him again

Meltzer on Brock/Ryback & Punk

One idea a lot of people brought up involved Brock Lesnar, with the idea Lesnar was a force who could interfere and cost Ryback the match. It could have lead to Ryback vs. Lesnar, and Ryback would end up a bigger star because of the nature of being in a main event with Lesnar. As noted here before, the problem with that is Lesnar has limited dates, and his contract is such that it economically makes no sense to waste a PPV date without advertising him. Also, he’s only got one major date left, and that’s with HHH. And that program isn’t going to change. In addition, Lesnar’s contract is date specific, in the sense the deal doesn’t allow him to be called up at the last minute as a fill-in. And it was never even broached to him about working with Ryback. By the nature of his contract, and what he wants himself, Lesnar only wanted big name opponents and money matches, and right now Ryback is not a big name.
I found several things interesting
I didn't know they already laid out specific dates & that Hunter & Brock was that definite (although it could change but both Brock & HHH have a shitload of pull)
While I agree that Ryback isn't a "big name", if they put him over huge at HIAC, a potential Brock match at RR or SS would be a big money match

I am still hoping they switch it up & have Brock interfere in the Punk/Rock match at Rumble & Punk goes to Mania as champ & we get Brock/Rock ....... imagine that match being hyped & it would be the biggest mania ever
