Jedi Master Geeks, Larping Nuts, there is a kickstarter for you!

Is there really a demand for this kind of game? This guy wants to create a game engine that does for Sword Fighting what other games do for Rifles, like all the Military Shooters.

Check out his pitch video on his kickstarter page.

Only bits and pieces of the video are on youtube so didn't bother posting any of it to the page. It's amusing enough to watch even if you are not into sword fighting video games. I don't plan on investing in this one.

    I'm a huge Stephenson fan.

EDIT: Holy shit, that video is hysterical, especially if you've seen him give a lecture before (he's kinda shy and a bit awkward).

He is halfway there with 28 days left to go so I'm guessing this one has legs.

Am I reading this correctly? Is this one of them "you invest money, you don't get a share of the profits" type deals?

Most game kickstarters offer you a digital copy of the game from Steam for the minimum dontation, Usually around $10. To me, it's like making a very cheap and early pre-order for a game. I didn't see this offer made on this particular game tho. I don't know if it's implied somewhere else in the text on the kickstarter site because I just skimmed over it.
